Ha ha. We had 2 goats lovely animals. bill did not alf stink, but he was lovely , and he loved the female one, I wanted goats milk for a bad allergy. We live in a village. And they kept getting out , but they always ran home when chased by police and bill
closing door behind them. I was warned to get rid of them , they loved going it in my car but my clothes and the car started to stink. Ha ha wonderful animals
Had one when I was a kid, but it started to try to mount my sister (yes really), so we got rid of him.

While fitting an older model unmentionable Kirst .45 LC conversion cylinder to one of my 58 Remington revolvers I needed some information & was pleasantly surprised by how friendly & helpful this company's staff was & even connected me with Bill their gunsmith who was very helpful & a true gentleman.
These days it's rare to find companies who are interested in providing customer service & are staffed with employees like this.

A cold damp day west of London , Not happy with my design , bit of brass under barrel , need to improve , wanted an ebony elephants head but what I have is too small Then i lost my special cap nipple in the workshop I’ll have to make another . The .6 dia lead ball fits fine , recall I made it 1.38” twist , no chance of firing it in UK. It’s got to be inert anyway without a police licence, no chance for me Need to get to France but their permit to carry in my Motorhome is rather elusive , but no Licence for BP guns , It’s very complicated there. Norway is very interesting and open to hunters so it seems , think my rifle is better than a Pedrosoli , but they are doing it for a very competitive price, but they make nice guns,

Thank Goodness for epoxy my walnut just split on a fault line never mind

Soon I’ll have to make 1850 wood screws to replace those awful Phillips heads. All in good time .

The first two photos both .5 bore. One LH lock and the other an Indian Bess lock

Enjoy. If I can do it so can you, iys just taking your time. Love from uk and to
those especialy up in Maine

Hit a gun show today. Lots of cool muzzleloaders as well as unmentionables.

At one table a guy had not 1 or 2 , but 8 original Springfields dated between 1829-1864. 1 was in bad shape , 3 where "eh, looks like a used 160 year old gun" shape, and 4 where in great shape.

Those 4 where so nice at first I thought they where reproductions made to look old at first, but upon closer inspection they looked to be originals in really good shape.

Saw a few other flintlock rifles, 2 pistols and a 4 bore shotgun.

Supposedly there are feral hogs all over Wisconsin as well. There is no bag limit as they are considered an invasive species, but the DNR (Dept. of Natural Resources) is being very tight-lipped about where exactly they can be found. I haven't seen a single one and I live here.

Same with Perth Western OZ. They wanted hunters to kill wild dogs killing sheep. Not to mention harmless goats It’s the sheep stations claiming money for dogs killing sheep ,,’. WA is a barren land north of Perth, no seguls. Few birds , nothing almost a desert I chased an emu nr Canarvon , no snakes , just sheep , termite mounds, and tough wild ?? cattle Perth is beautiful, and it’s cold green and wet as you go south beautiful country , sea rough it’s the Southet Ovean. I get carried away ha ha I have daily across the big pond but it was with P&O liner. Ha ha ha. 22 March I’ll be 80. Totaly mad. Ha ha ha

Have the thumb rest secured to the wrist of the Gemmer. Still have some touch ups to do and I may do some more filing on the slope, but I hate to loose anymore of the floral design. Since the whole idea was make the wrist taller, the inletting was slow. Not sure how much better it looks, but it certainly looks different.

Introduced my nephew to the wonderful world of muzzleloaders. Taught him how to load, shoot, and clean the Crockett rifle. He said he loves the muzzleloader thing. My reply to him was "well, that's good because they are all going to be yours when I depart this world". He was speechless.
