My works not perfect , I rush to much to get the job done, but I buy some proper guns at auction , perhaps I did not chose wisely buying this damage 8 g , but it’s been a nice challenge , cost me £156 at auction and the walnut £53 nice wall hanger over the fire , I’ll never fire it.

A dove can fly straight over me and I will knock him down with the gun almost perfectly perpendicular to the ground. Shot my limit of flooded timber ducks in water nearly to the top of my chest waders on the edge of the big river in freezing January. Have made a 200 yard one shot kill on a deer in falling light at dusk. I say this not to brag, but to show I am not a completely dysfunctional person.
But when I try to do something like carving? Fuggedaboutit. The ten digits on my hands are all thumbs.
I have great respect for the artists and artisans in our community and for the works that they make.

My wife and I went to the F&I war encampment today in Cooksburg Pa.
The battle was fierce and many a Frenchmen fell.
And yes @PathfinderNC there were Indians present.

Wow what a scene to see.
I was really impressed with the numbers of spectators. They would have easily overrun both sides of the battle lines, young and old alike - that was neat.
Two more clips

Today I made lead. A while back my buddy gave me a large industrial lead weight. Must have weighed over 80 lbs. It was much too big and heavy for my lead pot, trying to melt it down with a gas torch proved unsuccessful. Today I carrying it....slowly, into the back yard, grunting and groaning at each step. I cut in half with a chainsaw and saved all the shavings. The shavings and one half of the weight went into a cast iron pot on top of my "made in India charcoal forge". Soon I was able to start filling the ingot mold. When the pot got low the second half of the weight went in.

I should have enough lead now to make round balls for the foreseeable future.

That’s a Jack Pot for sure!

as usual I have been shooting about 10 shots a day with the trapper. I need new glasses . my prescription is about 5 or six years old... having a hard time focusing. have a lazy eye that drifts and I see double... still make some good shots but not like last winter. I really don't enjoy bulls eye shooting. I much prefer Biathlon but in the summer its the only game in town. I found out at sectionals that apparently I need a pistol stand. They got all bent about me having a holstered pistol. Got to keep everyone happy so yesterday I made a pistol stand out of some undressed native butternut that I had kicking around. Today I hit it with linseed oil and tested it. works just fine.
