I bought a Pietta 1861 Navy Sheriff Model in .36 caliber. It is in fantastic condition. It came with round balls, caps, capper, felt wads, a flask and a partial can of Goex FFFg. I think I got a good deal for $325.
If it shoots well, you did great!

Nearly completed the AMR with T/C lock. Just need to relocate / install the barrel pin, drill and tap a hole for the nipple. Will likely leave it in the white to age on its own.

It's too windy to anything outside so I'm annoying my wife by making a paper cartridge former.(She "loves" the smell of sawdust) As you can see it's far from finished.I really don't

know why though? Slow and tedious with just a dowel has always been fast enough for me.

broke, stuck, scratched everything i touched!
was going to shoot my .29 whatzit and the thing wouldn't spark. tried firing it off with a butane match . the pan would flash but no talk from the muzzle.
didn't want to leave it laying about loaded so attempted to draw the load.
and like an idiot broke the rod i had made for that tiny bore instead of using my steel range rod.
dismounted the barrel and the wedge punch slipped and boogered up the wood next to the wedge plate. wife wasn't home so i didn't get in trouble for my sailor speak.
took the breech plug out,(the only thing that went right). punched out the load and re breached it.
took the frizzen off and hardened it.
knapped a flint to fit perfect and put the whole mess back together.
maybe tomorrow i will get to shoot it.

I got a NIB T/C Renegade kit I bought 30+ years ago and never even started it.Still stored with my other NIB treasures. My wife razzes me about it from time to time.I always say it is gonna be a winter project but it never does.Farmin full time and raisin a family and other stuff kept gettin in the way.

Made some progress with my hand work for the PB making. Part of the giblets for my left handed FS Hawken flinter. Doing the filing so it appears as if it's forged. Finished the small hinge and began the door for the set. Lots of filing and grinding. The hinge was my first but it came out very well and fits the notch in the frame snugly. Track sent the screws I needed for the breech tang and that is ready to sent off to my stock guy who is inletting the barrel. I have several better photo's but I can't find them right now

I attempted to win the bid on a NIB TC New Englander kit on GB last week. Set my limit and resisted the urge to get caught up in a bid war. Seems like alot of stuff ends up a bid war these days

I would have never believed that I never would have never finished it let alone even start it.:doh:I remember bein so excited to build my own rifle.Lookin back I should have just bought a complete rifle.I think a cluttered basement also played a part in not startin it as I want a dedicated work area.

Man I've had days like that. Sometimes it is best to just walk away from the workbench, and fold laundry. Haha,
Feel your pain, Eric
