Started making this bag, still needs a strap.

Went through the flints in my shooting box and re sharpened 8 used flints , and narrowed some which were too wide . Then I sharpened my patch knives .

Well from all the reading and studying the info that this forum presents I have now finished polishing all my barrels. Now I am ready to start my quest on finding out just what some of my rifles will do. Over the last several months I have received a lot of guidance and through the generosity of several members now have a lot of diff bullets to test. Planning on letting lead fly tomorrow. THANKS to everyone here on some very thorough and helpful info.

made a RamRod for my Tennessee classic. put a couple coats of finish on. now am thinking of reducing the panels like EC121 suggested. or maybe just leave it to show progress in the next build!

Gave a one hour presentation at the local Historical society titled Origins of the Pa. /Ky. , m/l Rifle. Took some props , two longrifles , French Indian trade musket , Hudson valley Fowler. Nobody fell asleep ,they applauded at the end........Think I'll retire from the cheap entertainment business. ........oldwood

Finished the butt stock extension to increase LOP and mounted plate. Leather wrapped pad will be used as well so the colors won’t be visible.
2 coats of medium walnut Danish oil added. Will work on final finish and re assemble this weekend. Won’t be real fancy but will be serviceable.

Started the strap for the shooting bag I am making almost done. Then on to all the accroutaments for the bag and the rifle it will be assinged to.

Thanks to forums, my M/L interest has rekindled. Still digging out things from 50 years ago, Some I'd forgotten about, others I don't remember, still others I wish I had sold long ago

Saved parts seldom are the ones needed. Sorting loose round balls with a micrometer is ..boring. Opened tins of caps are NEVER full. The screwdriver you pick up first will not be the one you need, but you'll try it anyway. Needed parts are easier to find, thanks to the internet but they're WAY more expensive than the parts you lost 30 years ago.

Sold two clunkers at the antique mall in a week for stupid high money. Thinning the herd to acquire better stuff and it feels really good.

Weigh them on a small kitchen scale and it goes faster.

I weigh my balls on a Ohaus scale. +/- 2gr.

I bought a cut-down 1861 Tower stamped 3 band Enfield. It is probably loaded; at least there is SOMTHING in the bore. I'm soaking the breech in some ATF fluid & then I'm going to pull the plug and remove whatever is in there.

Just finished applying the 4th coat of Tru-oil on my TC Hawken stock. It's coming along very nice but I can't seem to get indoor pics that accurately convey the color and shade that it is. I'll have to get some outdoor pics in natural light once it's done. I'm a grease monkey motor head and kinda ham fisted and ignorant when it comes to woodworking. Didn't go too crazy reshaping anything, just rounded and beveled some edges here and there to smooth it up a little bit, and I mean a little bit

The craftsmanship some of you folks have on display here in this forum is truly amazing to me! I tip my hat to you all.

I used my new 1955 eBay engraver to make a foresight for my unmentionable 577-450 martinis Bit fiddly The brass was a tiny bit narrow so used a bit of epoxy I’ll make another in time that’s perfect My wife also cut my hair , I gave in for peace and quiet. I have been married 54 years today. As Mandela said “ life has been a struggle “. Er I mean married life my head is now cold The rain in London is tumbling down and it’s cold such is life in this green and pleasant land
