What Muzzleloading Stuff Did You Do Today?

I took the top off of a flask several days ago and promptly "misplaced" the 3 little screws. And as of today I'm still looking.

I bought a 2 pack of those from Wally World awhile back for about the same price. One now lives on my reloading bench and the other lives on my gun bench. Worth their weight in at least silver

screwed up 2 days work inletting a oct. to round swamped pistol barrel.
had it perfectly inlet. then drilled the RR hole and rod channel.
contoured for the trigger guard. lay out for the lock plate and trigger.
notice the barrel was inlet closer to one side than the other.
set up the band saw to cut parallel. side i ran against the fence tapered. new cut left no meat for the lock.
3/4 through inletting the new one.
wife is avoiding me for some reason

I made the holes for the stock pins on my .40 flinter longer so the accuracy is not upset by barrel expansion when shooting ,or the wood moving as the seasons change .

I belong to the 34th Battalion, Virginia Cavalry. The 34th is in the New England Region, but we have members from Florida to New Hampshire.

I’m with the 14th Va cav. We are spread out the same way.

I recently bought an older Japan made Dixie Gun Works marked Model 1766 Charleville musket, in .69 Cal. I wanted a long arm to go with my 1777 Charleville pistol. However, I really want a carbine length long arm and am considering making this into a project. It has seen a lot of use,(Probably made in late 1970s) but described by the auction house as sound. Having shipped to a flintlock gunsmith to check it out, tune the lock, refinish and do the work.

Bottom pic is the musket, as purchased. The top pic is the proposed carbine length. Barrel would be about 30 inches long and the nose cap would be taken back to the middle band.

I know i will probably get some heat for this, but it's already being done. I do not re-enact, (Did ACW 25 years ago) but I enjoy black powder firearms. This will be my first flintlock.

Made a few more envelopes for paper cartridges. I ran out of the "stick" kind of glue in a tube so I used my nieces "school" glue in a plastic squeeze bottle. Can I expect any differences?

Last Saturday prowling around the local gun stores and pawn shops ran across a 1982 Armi San Paolo reproduction of Colts 1851 Navy in 44 caliber with a 5” barrel. (Fantasy Gun ) Appears to never have been fired.
This morning I remedy that. 48 rounds.
Not a muzzle loader but some of the revolver fans here might take a gander.
I wonder what it sold for in 1982, $30 40 dollars. I overpaid at $250 but I don’t think I’ve seen a Colts 1851 with a five inch barrel.

It rained here today and was too wet for farm work . Went to the range with my Traditions Kentucky and my new patch knife. The knife isn’t exactly historically correct but it works perfectly in this period .

Got my New in box .50 Gm barrel for Cougar in mail…. stainless is nice for many things… and having a Sidelock muzzleloader with that , Sure is cool.

Going to Missouri in 4 weeks to shoot video & BP guns with some fellow FB shooters.
Need more .600's than I currently have on hand.
This is a start, going to pour that many more tomorrow afternoon...
I look forward to losing some of that KY lead in Missouri.....

Finished my Kibler SMR today. I could continue doing things over until I ruin it, or I can call my first attempt at assembling a kit good enough, and shoot the thing.

I also went through my powder supply. I have more than I thought.

Replaced the factory wide V sight on the Renegage with a buckhorn. Have to wait until Friday to see if any adjustments are needed.

Received my 1st left-handed rifle from a member here today! A Lyman GPR in .54 caliber. Just got done replacing the fiberoptic sights with some more traditional ones. Already got a mold and some balls cast up. Can't wait to shoot it!

It might not load into the muzzle of the pistol barrel, but it is a muzzleloader nonetheless, else they wouldn't be on this forum.
