That’s impressive that you did that! Really good!

But I’m shocked, shocked that threads have been repeated. ;)
Yes, shockingly what to prime with, how long a flint will last, how to clean, what to use for lube, swamped barrels, and what to carry in your shooting pouch has been discussed before. Who woodda thunk it?

Made smoke in the squirrel woods this morning. Unfortunately just smoke and no meat🙄. Absolutely perfect morning. Twenty seven degrees when leaving the truck, dead calm and clear. Leaves mostly down and crunchy. I could hear squirrels a long way.

Hated to leave at noon. Had a nice buck come up to about 20 yds too. C3CC9C96-5463-47E2-8A4E-464711049699.jpeg

Nice morning!

Received a set of checkering tools I bought to cut some incised lines in my Colonial kit. Tested them on some scrap and looks like it will be easier to cut some long lines on the buttstock using a v-tool.

Since the previous thread was shut down (locked) by our new moderator, I thought I would start one up again, as per the suggestion.
So, let's get this thread going again, and share your muzzleloading related adventures of the day!
Today? Well, I took my .50 TC Hawken snowshoe hare hunting. Patched ball, sixty grains. No luck today. But I see them pretty often.

Its Thursday Nov 10th and 12:30 AM. Just came in from the deck from firing a celebration round from
my 45 cal Kentucky pistol .Replacing the ball with #4 steel wool. Quite a show of multi- colored fire.
Wishing all Marines on forum a happy 247th birthday. And lets not forget tomorrow Nov 11th Veterans
Day when we honor all veterans ,past and present military of the greatest country on Earth. We have our
troubles but we are still the greatest.

@buckheart Man, that’s a nice looking rifle.
Thanks- Finished that one up over last winter. I used the KISS method as I don't have the artistic ability to draw the scroll work necessary for carving. Mechanically I could carve but I would have to get scroll templates and transfer them to the stock.
That was from a sale Mr. Kibler had last year. I ordered it with fancy maple and to me it's looking more like extra fancy. I think Jim is very generous with his grading system.

Installed an action cover in my Pietta 58 Remi and pumped the internals with high temp grease to keep the fowling away.

Clarify action cover please. Couldn't find any reference for that title on the web. I have a new SS 58 Rem 44 unfired as of yet. Too busy moving freight a to b. Like to read the forum in the sleeper to wind down.
