I just finished spending more of my hard earned (and meager) retirement money on stuff for my SMR build.

Believe me, I understand. I just finished my patch box install and have a toe plate coming in the mail today.

This morning I put the 3rd coat of Polyurethane on the Traditions 50 Cal. stock. Several more to go.

I polished the bores of two older kit pistols I got a few months back, as well as cut a bunch of .010 patches for them since .015 needed a hammer to sit the balls!

Put the finishing touches on the rough cast serpent side plate for my next NW trade gun project. Amazing how crappy these look when you first get them; this one arrived bent into an L shape.

I remember the first cast patch box I ordered. When it arrived I thought there is no way there is a patch box in that mess. A lot of filing and clean up.

I re-did a toe plate and cut molding lines on the SMR kit and cleaned up the trigger guard. Next, I'll be doing a light sanding to the wood and applying a finish to the stock.

Thats a quality outhouse ya got there, The deer camp I hunted in WVA. the privey had no door. Came in from hunting one day and the camp cook had a nice 8 pt. hanging on the pole ask him who shot it,told me he did as he was tending business in the crapper, said he was reading the news paper looked up and there stood the buck so he shot it and finished up the paper work.

This one is the facilities for the tiny house I am living in. Lots of dead trees on the way to and from it so perfect for throwing the hawk.

I'm a new to ML shooter. Posted a few photos of the T/C Hawken 50 that's hopefully on it's way to me! In the mean time I've been gathering up the necessities for making smoke. I'm starting from scratch, except I have a supply of BP, lead (wheelweight/range lead, some 40:1 and 50:1 ingots, and some sheet lead that hasn't been smelted yet), pot/dipper, and heat! I've procured cleaning equipment, lubed patches, some .490 RB, etc. and I've ordered some .498 RB, Wonder Wads and Walters Wads, pillow ticking patchs, both Maxi Ball and Maxi Hunter, some Great Plains and conical bullets, etc. just to try everything out. Probably should have just started w/RB
Not sure where to start with the powder - Wano PP (I have the most of this)/Elephant 2F (partial can) or the Swiss, both sides of the barn door at 1-1/2Fg and 3Fg. What's the consensus on Cartridge grade BP in a ML? I have the most of this left from BPCR loading.
Will wait to get into casting for this rifle until after I see how it goes. Have been reading all the threads on lube recipes/pan lubing etc. The wealth of information on this forum is vast and much appreciated. Patiently awaiting the rifle's arrival!

These two operations had me the most worried. Definitely pucker time trying to stay within the lines using a scroll saw. Especially when the curls don't break and you can no longer see the line.

Now everything is on hold until TOTW ships my lock and other goodies.

And I'm jealous of all you guys spending some time in the deer woods. Good luck.
