I'm hoping to participate in a woods walk for the first time this coming Sunday, so tonight I prepped my shooting pouch with 25 balls and 25 patches lubed with neatsfoot oil, and a tin with a worm and tow, and a small bottle of rubbing alcohol if I need to swab the bore. I'll probably move the tin and bottle to one of my pockets so there's less junk in the bag to get in the way when I reload. I already had stuff like spare flints, vent pick, turnscrew, and powder measure in the bag.

The shoot will be at the Boyertown (PA) Rod and Gun Association. There's only 20 targets but I figured having a few extra shots ready couldn't hurt.

Today, I toured an 11th century castle in Ghent, Belgium. The castle was amazing but they had a bunch of muzzleloaders and other weaponry displayed and I took pictures for you guys. Many of them were beyond my ability to identify but I thought it may be fun to see.

I toured another castle several years ago in Prague and they had a weapon display that was ten time bigger and even more incredible. I still have to she pictures too.

Got my fowler set up ready to slip out of this farmhouse with a coupla dogs before the old woman gets up and spoils our plans. She got hearing aids yesterday, so slipping around might be harder. Don't know yet. Black coffee, black powder ...waiting for dawn.
It worked! Old dog's deaf as a rock. Basset puppy don't know sic'm, mostly followed at my heels. Under "wind advisory"- saw absolutely zip game due to high winds. Shot another hedgeapple behind the barn, fed dogs, cleaned gun and made more coffee. She didn't even know we'd gone nor heard me shoot.

Didn't realize her new hearing aids come out at night (just like her teeth). She didn't hear us rattling around. Stealth was needless. At least the gun went off.

one must still maintain our finer methods and hone our sneak to an art. getting kind of hard though these days.

Rasped the belly into shape.

Now I have a better understanding of where the trigger, trigger plate, trigger guard and tang screw goes.

Laying everything out for a reverse tang screw install. The original hole on the antique trigger guard can be used as a tang screw attachment point. Need to add a 1/8" steel tab under the 1/8" tang to provide more 10-32 threads.

I'd like to hear more from the ML brain trust before proceeding. Drilling holes is something you can't come back from.
