"Yellow Bird" is a character I created for a series of books and short stories I wrote. She uses a gun somewhat similar based on an English Sea Service pistol lock. I built the gun as a sort of "proof of concept" gun. In her bookverse, the idea for a short-barreled traditional sidelock gun carried muzzle down and ready to be used against a large predator at close range caught on and the general design took her name.

Her's is not exactly like mine... and nobody else's is either. Yellow Bird is genetically engineered and has a few anatomical differences from the main stock of humanity, so her stock has some notches in the breach to accommodate some extra ligaments in her shoulder. The gun is not in one of the books currently published, but it exists in the manuscript for at least one short story and one novel length manuscript.

I will attach a copy of a short story manuscript (still a work in progress) here in PDF format so you can see the drawings. I would respectfully ask that it not be shared online outside of this forum.. story ideas are kind of like trade secrets, but as I will probably croak in the next few years, my unpublished works likely have no real value. Enjoy.

Well, that was very interesting and re enforces my idea that the concept of creation, infinity in time and space and what we may be a part of is simply beyond the abilities of our understanding, much like an insect could never be expected to operate on the level we exist in. I sent a check to Richard at the going out of business Flintetc for a sear spring... and returned the one Taylors sent me by mistake... after getting a shipping label from them.

Taylors' parts guy said their website clearly said the sear spring was for a Chiappa Kentucky, which they do not sell that gun anyway, but some screen shots of the ordering process proved otherwise and got my email bumped up a tier

A stamp most likely would have covered it, but it's the principle.
If you're going to sell me a part for my gun that we discussed over the phone, it should be for that gun.

I continued to work on the Kibler 58 kit's patch box. It's still a little tight but will latch. I made a pin block out of an old chair arm rest, then used it to line up the stock and thimble pins that were removed so I could pin the forend. That's all I had time for this morning, doctor's appointments, for my care home residents, were calling on my time.

I have to say, I sure have been enjoying Mr Dale Allen Raby knock over stuff in the snow. Man, it looks cold there. I braved similar conditions today when I had the opportunity to head out to the range with the Three Band Parker Hale. I got this one shooting well now - a minie it likes, lube and load combination. The minie is Lee's .575 trashcan of pure lead, 50gn FFFG Wano, Semolina filler over powder by equal volume, 70/30 beeswax and lard lube. I aimed the first twelve shots with a fine sight right in the middle of the target, with all shots grouping nicely to the right. The last shot I placed the front sight, fine again, at nine o'clock on the white circle - the shot fell bang in the middle, a touch high. My sights are as issued, standard; I'm not keen to alter them at all to adjust elevation and windage. A fine sight and aiming off will suffice.

Oh, and the target was shot off a rest, front and back, sitting at a bench, locked in tight yet relaxed (you know what I mean), an ever so slight breeze left to right.

Can’t have chickens here at the camp, too many *****, coyotes too. Never heard of possums eating chickens.

We tried guineas. Great horned owl killed six in 2 weeks. Ripped the breasts off and left the rest. Startled him coming home one night in our lane. He had a rabbit down and spread his wings and they looked like they were 6 feet tip to tip! He flew at the car but swooped up and away at the last minute.

Plenty of writers didn’t achieve success until after their death. I can’t download the pdf on my phone but this sounds something I’d enjoy reading. Don’t give up on the plan!

This week received a new threaded bottom plug for an Ideal core mold.
The cores drop out at the right diameter to paper patch for the forty bores.
The new bottom plug will give them round flat noses instead of flat on both ends.

Ha ha. We had 2 goats lovely animals. bill did not alf stink, but he was lovely , and he loved the female one, I wanted goats milk for a bad allergy. We live in a village. And they kept getting out , but they always ran home when chased by police and bill
closing door behind them. I was warned to get rid of them , they loved going it in my car but my clothes and the car started to stink. Ha ha wonderful animals
