Fiocchi is a shotgun company since the late 1800s. They made ammo, too. Could be an old style shotgun primer that went out of style when things started getting standardized.

Those are Berdan primers for the 6.5x55 Krag-Jorgensen rifle.

I was doing some current historical research on blackpowder gear. I had an interest in finding out the the time when it was possible to buy locks from TOW or similar. The purpose is to see if Tennessee Gunsmiths was among the first to offer complete Locks, set triggers, and others fittings. TGS's was incorporated in 1971. I remember TOW in the early 1990's selling their set trigger. I'm just trying to put together a history of this company that was located in Tullahoma, TN. Thanks for your help.

Since the previous thread was shut down (locked) by our new moderator, I thought I would start one up again, as per the suggestion.
So, let's get this thread going again, and share your muzzleloading related adventures of the day!

I poured 125 .580 wadcutters and sized them to .575 for my Pattern 53 original Enfield. Then I made up some pre-measured 45 grain quick loads and lubed them, ready to go when warmer weather hits!

Ordered the taller rear sight for the Woodsrunner, and otherwise froze my butt (but not off, unfortunately - I need to lose weight).

The Doc is out and cold now.

I think I'm going to give it a really good cleaning, like I should have in the first place using a wire brush to make sure everything is clean and ready to go.

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Unpacked my order of flints from Heritage Products. Those are great folks to deal with and the quality of the flints is top tier. Trying to decide on what the next Kibler kit will be. Torn between a SMR/walnut/40cal or a Colonial/maple/.54 cal. I sure don't need either one, but I'm not going to let "need" get in the way of a good time.

i seasoned my bore with t/c bore butter. sorry just had to.

I've heard you can season your bore with Bisquick, and your biscuits bake on the way out the barrel, you just need a catcher down range.

I am still in rent serfdom so I keep my stuff kinda limited tool wise cause I figure once I get a house I can really make the garage what I want. That said thanks to a few estate sales and hobo freight I have assembled a little work station and got to christen it today by finally fixing my 51 navy I traded AR parts for forever ago.

You’re only a few miles north of me and this cold is brutal. Horrible. Be gone end of week they say.
Youll love retirement. I did 9/22. Wife 3 weeks ago. Loving life like you cant imagine. Every day is mine. I cant even explain it. Never been happier.Fortunately, we retired very well, planned ahead, very comfortable. Hope you did the same.

my only problem with retirement is I shoot less then I did before ! and I can just open the back door and shoot out to a half mile!
