Wheather it be your patch lube or Gun Lube? What's you favorite kind?I use spit when on the range but recently I started Birddogs lube on my patches.I like it.
As a final storage lube on my rifles I exclusivly use Ballistol.Man that stuff is Awsome! Can't be bought up Here in Canada but a couple of years ago I was south and latched onto a good supply, enough to last me 3 or 4 years.

I've been using Stumpkiller's Moose Milk and Snot the last couple of sessions. I really like them a lot. The first batch of patches I soaked with MM is still damp, while the second batch dried (after 2 dippings) over night) I can't figure that one out, but the damp patches sure give a lot of shots w/o wiping the bore. :m2c:

For patch and conical lube I use my homemade lube of beeswax and olive oil.
For cleaning and storage I use Rem-oil with teflon.

I use Birddog6's liquid lube when at the range and his grease mixture when hunting. I have had great results with both. His liquid lube is a lot like LeHigh but doesn't seem to evaporate as fast. For storage and cleaning I use Balistol followed by a BD6 grease patch. Been using it since June of last year.

I described the process before. Bull snot is better and the product in the very early spring (when the sap is running) is the best. You wait until he is facing a large tree, then you tippy toe up with a icicle in yer good hand. Lift his tail very carefully and insert the icicle.

After the medivac airlift and recuperation period you return to the tree and scrape the snot off. You want to do this well before hunting season so you can practice, and get the casts off.

Moose Milk, of course, comes from a cow. Maxiball tried to milk a bull last fall. It Max no difference now.

Started out many years ago with spit or Crisco. Now I like the Wonder Lube 1000, TOW's Mink Oil (really a grease) and Lehigh Valley Lube. I prelube patches with the Wonder Lube, use Lehigh in the clean-up step and coat the bore with mink oil when I'm putting it away.

:m2c: i was very happy with Crisco or spit but since i tried Stumpkiller's Moose Milk i have converted that is the best patch lube period for cleaning i use 1/2 alcohol 1/2 merphies oil sope for storage wd40 workes for me

I wouldn't trust WD40 for storage. While it will remove rust when fresh it also seems to cause rust over time. :imo:

Essecence of Kiwi bird.
The big secret is to feed them throw the wringer REAL quick so the grease squirts out evenly.

I have been a real believer in the "WOS" brand of lube. Also know as "What's On Sale" This has meant TC Natural Lube 1000 and Uncle Mike's "Hot Shot Lube. I've been lucky finding a wholesaler or dealer with a close-out case of lube. However you gotta be sure the lube isn't old and dried out. Otherwise it's home brewed lube with bee's wax and virgin olive oil.

I use a pleasant blend of Napa cutting oil, Murphey's oil soap and distilled water. I think my ratios change every time I whip up a batch. I soak my patching material and let it dry and repeat the process for good luck. Sometimes I even rewet these a little bit before a match just for s**ts and grins. One day I'll make some of Stumpkiller's stuff just to feel like one of the gang. :)

I use my own brew I call Cat Whiz, a concoction of equal parts Murphy's Oil Soap, Alcohol, Olive Oil, and Witch Hazel. Get the patches fairly damp but not dripping and you can shoot forever without swabbing.

I have always been a moosemilk user for a long time but I have changed to Stumpkiller's recipe using castor oil and witch hazel instead of the NAPA cutting oil. For patch lube I do not know of none better.

For the conicals I use a Moose Snot "kind of." It is a little different only because I had made a large batch prior to learning about the other. To make it thinner (mine is rather stiff) I have been melting a little castor oil into the mix. It has been working great on the conicals.

i have heard that wd40 is not the best to use for storage but the guns never sit for that long without use mabey that is why i have not had a problem yet i did have problems with balistol :results:
