I’m not going to try to talk you in to becoming a pipe smoker. But pipe smoke isn’t sucked into the lungs. Smoke is taken by mouthfuls, not inhaled like a cigarette or a joint
Some can get into the lungs for sure, but very little, much like sitting around a campfire or an charcoal grill

I quit cigarettes years ago - 1978 - and not touched any tobacco products again until 2007 (cigar or pipe) when my wife filed for divorce after 35 years of marriage - a real shock to me. Now at 75 I rarely have a good cigar or a pipe full of tobacco. I do have a good bourbon and water with a good cigar or a pipe full of tobacco on that rare occasion sitting on the back patio listening to nature - it's very relaxing. Everything in moderation

hey i have no argument, i just don't care to partake, but that gives me no special rights. but i really doubt it is good for you in any way. i relax by drinking coffee or iced tea. i sure hope the caffeine ain't killing me! LOL but who knows. i saw the other day where a woman in Italy died at a documented 122 years old! she quit smoking when she was 116 YEARS OLD! she smoked cigarettes almost 100 years! she ate olive oil and dark chocolate every day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I believe they just called it “pipe weed”.

I remember that, in the appendices for the Lord of the Rings, Tolkien just said it was a variant of Nicotiana... They talked about different blends in the book, but there was never any mention of flavors, so I'm guessing his idea of blends were burleys or cavendishes....

Who here is also a pipe smoker? Not necessarily int he traditional sense....but enjoys a good pipe and tobacco after a day of shooting. .I would love to know what your are smoking (pipe) and what is your favorite blend....For me I smoke a few pipes, but my go to right now is a Missouri Meerschaum Dune Cobbit pipe, and I love County Squire Tombigbee......

I mostly smoke cigars these days but I used to smoke a pipe fairly regularly. Sherlock style pipe and my favorite tobacco blend was Tawny Port.

i am 67 years old today! my mom and died when they were 63 years old! of heart attacks, they smoked, i never have. i enjoy breathing, just saying,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Not sure how the op's thread beginning about which members of this forum are pipe smokers invited opinions about the act of smoking a pipe?

When I was a kid, some agency had a booth at the county fair. They had a smoker’s lung on display. It was coal black. I smoked a pipe in college(I liked both Flying Dutchman and Latakia blends) but every time I lit up I saw that black lung in my mind. That was in 1972. None since then. To each his own!!

I hope you sanctimonious Karen's don't shoot black powder, lead bullets, drive behind a diesel truck, live near a city or a highway. Those things will kill ya! Oh, BTW, better not be overweight either, that will really kill you.

After I finish in the shop today, I'm gonna smoke a bowl. I have surgery Monday so I have to skip smoking tomorrow.

LOL, or really lead poison but i know there is some people who do die from lead, but i bet they ain't crazy enough to put it in their mouth! and say, ah, it won't hurt you! carry on brother,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
