I'm looking for a pedersoli 10ga. or 12ga. sxs. I'm looking for either a finished one or a kit depending on the price. I have found a 10ga. waterfowler for $800 but was wondering if there are any better prices out there.

The 10 ga. SxS Pedersoli from Cabela's has the pistol grip stock, checkered, with choke tubes, the bores are tight ,so you will need to use 11 ga. wads, cards, I replaced the original nipples that came with the gun, bores are chrome lined, which means no jug choking. I have seen them listed used from 599.00 on up, New from 950.00 the 12 ga. are going for 100 bucks less (used) with the straight grip stock. Hope this helps

Dixie Gun Works offers Pedersoli SXS Kits. The price is way less than your listed prices.

You can buy a shootable original for less than that.

What Mike said!
I just haunted Gunbroker for quite a while until I was able to pick up a really nice belgian 14 gauge -damascus barrels- even for $350. Shot my first pheasant with it last November!
If you're willing to wait and watch for a while you can get a great deal.

I found some really nice originals in my price range but they were in england, I've never imported a gun, I'll have to talk with some of my buddies in customs to see what it entails.

currently the english pound is trading at 1.66 us so make sure those guns were in US dollars

I converted the currency, the guns in england seem to be in alot better shape than here and are far cheaper in that condition, but I'm pretty leary about buying an antique from an over seas source, I've had to return a couple here in the states, I'd have to eat it if it were from an over seas source, but then again I might get a real nice gun I couldn't get here for a reasonable price. I'm going to take my time and weigh my options.

All of the English guns that I have been fortunate enough to see were in really fine shape. Most had excellent bores. They had better care and maintenence and less long term exposure to weather than guns over here did. And when the gun needed something--say a new stock finish, it got it. Even today these guns and their early breech loading brethren are refinished and relined and reproofed to allow them to continue their useful lives instead of sitting in the corner wasting away.
