I don’t know anyone on here or have met anyone, but am very open to it. Due to my open nature and frankness on this site, I think that it is unlikely that most of the active members would be interested in spending time with me, which is fine, since I’m kind of a lone wolf anyway. I’ve only been active in muzzleloader stuff since January, so there hasn’t been a really long time for me to meet people organically. If someone is interested in meeting me or shooting at the shotgun range let me know. I generally keep to myself the more controversial of my beliefs when spending time with friends or family that diverge from my politics or other beliefs. When someone makes the investment to spend time in real life, it’s best for everyone to feel comfortable if possible IMO.
Well, I know we traded comments from very different points of view. But if you ever find yourself in New York States Adirondacks, look me up. I'd be happy to buy you a beer.

I’ve met a couple in person. One posts here intermittently and the other I’ve not seen here for some time but I think it has much to do with their work situation.

I would be willing to bet that banjoman and I have crossed paths and didn’t know it. But to answer the question, I have not met anyone on this forum that I know of.
I would also bet we’ve probably stood elbow to elbow at LaFollette Sport Shop and didn’t realize who each other was. Who knows, we might know each other!

I've met several of the Forum members. @andy52 and I will probably meet up at the Winter Rendezvous at Fort de Chartres. There are at least 6 that I have met and there are several members of my gun club that are members of the Forum but don't participate often.

Fort de Chartres Winter Rendezvous, November 6 & 7, 2021 – Fort de Chartres

I met @Loyalist Dave at Fort Frederick some years back. I need to convince my wife that we need to visit her brother at the time of the Fort Frederick Trade Fair again.

Where do we find the regional forums? I didn’t find anything using the search tool. Thanks!
Go back to the listing of the Forums. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Regional Forums Heading. Select your region.

Or do a search for a specific Region, such as "Midwest". The second hit is a topic in the Midwest page of the Regional Forum.

Just a question I have been pondering lately, purely out of curiosity, born of some of the replies to topics in the, "Beyond the Great Divide," section.

Who here knows someone else or multiple other members, in person? Or at least as met another member or members in person?
Not asking anyone to name names. Just curious as to how many of us have actually met eachother.

I have met 2 other members in person, one is fairly active here still, the other's activity here is sporadic and often is just reading. The second one and I talk fairly regularly and have gotten together a few times. But that is all for face to face knowledge of another member.
I do talk several times a week with two former members and consider them both good friends. Hopefully someday we can hunt and scout together.
I talk occasionally with a couple others whom I also hope to meet with and at least share a drink soon.

It seems that on the ALR forum there is a small group of members that know eachother at least on some small basis.
What about here?
I don't know any personally, but considering some brief comments with another guy, I bet I've attended the same show in southern Lancaster County, Pa., a great county with lots of history.

Man… I must be a social butterfly…😁
17 members here that I can think of meeting in person at one time or the other over the past 14 years or so.
Some no longer come here, some no longer are with us.. May those RIP.
Many more that I met at the Forum woods walk at Friendship over those years as well.
I just can’t recall the names of many of those….

Here’s one from a few years back…

I met one forum member at a shoot we both attended, and had prior contact through private messaging. Two other members I have actually competed with at shoots and know them outside the forum.

If they have those events this year, you would be welcome to meet me at my place, which would be on your way anyway, and I would drive from here.
I am reliant on @Grimord for info on these. I am really not interested in their line shoots, just the woodswalks. I wish they would have them when it is a little warmer, but they only have them in winter it seems.
The reason we have the woods walks in the late fall and winter is because by then the leaves have fallen, and the shooting lanes and walking trail are clear. Our shoots should be starting up next month. The shoot in Nov. is usually a line shoot to coach new shooters and to get everyone back in the mindset of loading and shooting. Another reason our shoots are in the late fall and winter is because many if not most of our shooters are hunters.

I know, or am at least acquainted with IRL, more than 30 members here. Those known via correspondence bumps it up near 100.
I'm mostly looking for how many of us actually know each other face to face.
At most distant, know eachother well enough to correspond regularly about life in general and have a personal interest in eachother's well being.

You're talking about a level of friendship that isn't something a modern forum really can do. These are the things that take years of comradery in person. I've had those kinds of close relationships with people I've gone to many rendezvous with the old grey beards we called them. many became friends and taught me much of what I know about this hobby...most of those have passed. I'm 70 years old now and some of those memories seem like they were yesterday and some seem like a lifetime ago.

While I generally agree, the forum can open doors for relationships that grow. I've met people because of this place, like @Two Feathers who communicated by email for a time. We've since met. We don't talk weekly, but if he called with a need I'd try to be there.
Living in the Army so long you make friends that come and go in your life. They aren't out of your life but I went months or sometimes years without talking as we moved to different places for duty. When we do talk, conversations start where they left off. A forum like this can be the connection place for those "old friends" or the starting point for new ones.
