Thank you Dean,
My need for a rifle has vanished as no one with one exception showed any interest in mentoring a new arrival to our sport. Which fine, I guess.
I did get to see some fetching rifles. Enough to almost bring tears to my eye over being excluded by nature from the sport.

That's a nice rifle. Does it shoot well?

Thank you for your thought.

You do nice work buddy.

Dutch, I think you know Taylor Sapergia excellent builder out of Canada. With the 30% better US dollar he might be able to build one close to your price range. If you tell him the whole story he may be able to work with you an timelines. I have one of his LH Hawken and it is a work of art. Mine has two barrels, 54 and 62 and a spare tuned lock.

This gun has seen a lot of use over the years so stock etc is not pristine.

Just found this thread. I've been training with Mike Roby, mentioned earlier in this thread, for over 4 years.. Yes, he can make just about any style you care to order. He has a couple of his rifles and pistols on other websites for sale.

that is one gorgeous rifle! with extra barrel & lock, it should be going a few lifetimes from now! (assuming no catastrophic stock accident) ;>). I hope you have an heir that appreciates such beauty & function..
