And how many good men are going to try to get a job filled with stress-filled confrontations that can go bad in a split second where the officer has to react perfectly in another split-second, on video, and get it right every time?
Think you could survive financially and legally for 20+ years in a work environment like that?

Some say crime was much lower in times past when officers were allowed to administer an occasional theraputic skull cracking for slow-learners who had difficulty grasping the importance of being a good, honest, productive citizens, and see the error of their ways.
Some people say all sorts of things. I still remember my dad saying, "some people like to talk about the Good Old Days. But I was there, and I wasn't impressed." I'm the age he was when he said it, and I agree. I grew up in a small town, where the cops got away with all sorts of crap.

People are concerned that if they ship even a muzzleloading firearm to a individual in California, and said muzzleloading firearm is later used in a crime, the state may try to come after them, with help from the atf. No thanks.
People worry about all sorts of silly things, but I seriously doubt that's one of them.

I’m with the dealers that won’t ship to CA.
The gain is not worth the risk.
Few sellers want to risk doing battle and accruing legal fees that would bankrupt them fighting the unlimited resources of the State.
What does that have to do with refusing to sell me a rifle sling? It's a piece of leather... You can't tell me the guy did it because he was afraid the State might come after him. He did it to be an _______.

And all the dealers who claim they're scared to ship guns to California, because the state might come after them for some reason, are leaving out one important detail that derails their argument: in most cases they're required to ship to a licensed FFL, rather than directly to an individual. If there's anything problematic, it'll come back on the California FFL.

Which laws in particular? I can't think of a single one that would have anything to do with what you're trying to get done. Also, there's certainly crime here, but statistics don't bear out the perception that it's higher here than in other states. That's just hype. Definitely agree on the civility part.

I remember all the news media pictures and videos of criminals raiding the train cars in California and getting into all of the packages et cetera. They were doing it in Chicago too.

I wish people could understand that we aren't a monoculture out here.

Maybe we will get lucky and the Bay Area will slide into the ocean, hopefully they will take Oakland with them!

Don’t forget CA wanted to continue to tax people that moved out of the state. I don’t put it past them to file charges against someone for selling a gun to a CA resident along with the FFL holder in CA they sent it too. This is a state that catches fire every year and STILL won’t do anything to stop it from happening again and again.

Get rid of grusom Newsom and just maybe things might change?? After all, he has been measuring for new drapes in the oval office but funny that he didn't have enough balls to do it while the STUPID SOB (his words, not mine) brandon was in DC. Newsom, the *#%@#% coward, but things just might be different now.
Remember Hammer Man making the visit to Aunt Nancy's house? Havn't heard much from her lately. ;) :D:D
Not around to help Newsom get in THE LIST.

To no one in particular,

I see listings all the time on GB and other places where the seller states he won't ship to X, Y, Z.

This is a failure to think critically.

Why does actively working to SUPPRESS people who are attempting to exercise their God given rights make a lick of sense? A seller who won't ship there isn't hurting CA/NY/CT/IL. He's helping them in their effort to suppress freedoms!

I think there are people who take their disapproval of a State's majority politics to a place where they are essentially selling out their compatriots 'behind enemy lines,' so to speak. And barking at them to pick up and move is equally as unfair.

I live in NY. We have more open land than ANY state east of the Mississippi River! It's a beautiful, rugged, mountainous state where hunting and fishing abound. But 72% of the population lives in 9% of the land area, and they decide things for the rest of us.

If someone is telling me they wont ship to NY, they are REINFORCING the idiotic politics of that urban/suburban majority.

I just don't understand the thought process of some people...

Trust me, we want to help fellow shooters and hunters. But not at the risk of a tyrannical state government that may change gun laws on a whim , to prosecute or sue an out of state person who sent a muzzleloading gun into their state. With the help from a rotten federal government. I’m sorry for your situation. But me sitting in jail or bankrupt from lawsuits won’t feed my family.

I find it odd that someone living in a free state would worry that the state of Ca would come after them. Arent you tucked away behind your free border with your own Attorney General?

I say send all the stuff you can into occupied territories.

Its simple as this, big city folk are different from country folk, and once they control the vote, they make the messed up laws or all to follow. And unless you live in WY or OK, theres a big city or two thats growing in your state too.

People are too lazy to use the search function on this forum for something simple. They are not going to resurch the laws of states that would throw them in prison for a minor mistake made because the way the laws are written you have to be a lawyer to understand them.

That's the point some are making. Some of these concerns aren't reasonable or realistic. "Tyrannical" is the new word for "ideologically different than me and occasionally a source of inconvenience." Often, when I hear that word, it's in reference to something that came about as a result of the democratic process, and people just don't seem to reflect on the fact that they're not the only one voting. Black powder guns being legal to buy/sell/ship in California is a FACT--people's paranoia and factionism notwithstanding.

I’m northwest of Lost Angeles and I’ve had more trouble with mail to Idaho.
I bought a case of BP from a new outfit, they said just snail mail the release that says I won’t blow up anything important and we’ll send the powder. Great!
So we did. I got the powder and a phone call- “we didn’t get that release.”
OK no prob, printed another and mailed it same day.
Two weeks later I get a nasty voicemail saying if I don’t send that release they’re gonna sic the ATF goon squad on me!
So I emailed and faxed 3 more copies then sent those same copies snail mail.
Naturally I wrote on them assuring them I’d never do bidness with them again. Back to Powder Inc forever.
I dunno where TrijiCon is but it’s too late to google them- gotta get up at 4:30 to go to the range and see a buddy who has an FFL, we might be able to help you out.

You all can have your paranoia, I live in southern california and have had no problems getting anything shipped in. Last year bought a Pietta New Model Army from Muzzleloader.com shipped straight to my house no problems, the gestapo didn't bust down my door and no goon squads showed up at the warehouse of Muzzleloaders. Less than a month ago bought another NMA from a member of this forum and again shipped straight to my home and again the gestapo didn't come get me and the member I bought from didn't have the goons at his door. Everyone has the right to do what they want, If you don't want my money, no problem I can always find someone who does. By the way in the last two weeks just had 1000 caps shipped in to my home again no problems. I hate paying the hazmat fees but you buy when and where you find it. I have also had cylinders and other BP parts shipped in with no problems. So again do what you want I can always find someone less paranoid who has no problem taking my money.

It just takes ONE nutjob in California, New Jersey, New York, ect, to commit a horrible crime with a cap and ball revolver that makes the national news , for the respective state governments with atf help, to go after all involved parties. In which THEY will make an example of the sender of said cap and ball revolver . Even if you DID NOT violate any laws, you may be financially broken in the process.

I’ve sent stuff to California, thats a screw, thats a piece of steel. It’s just the relationship between England and Europe. European gun laws punish British gun makers and suppliers, so they have to improvise yet the largest gun manufactures are in Europe.

All that gun laws in CA is satisfy a voting base, they still have one of the largest caches of illegal guns in the nation (hint hint maybe look south).

I heard some rumblings about “revolvers which are able to convert to centerfire” were to be put on “the List” for DROS and FFL transfers.
I still got a couple of .36s in the mail this year- to my door in “sunny southern”, the “Car Chase Capitol of California “

Gun Broker has a preset to exclude any state(s) you wish. They need one to exclude nuts and dems.

Same with Illinois! Not worth it. I once bought a muzzleloader at an Illinois auction online. Had to be sent to an FFL by Illinois law. I'm in Colorado. Then I looked up Illinois law on muzzleloaders: requires to be sold only by FFL licensed persons! What really was funny, an air rifle over 750fps was also FFL regulated in Illinois!

Considering that by federal and California laws muzzleloaders are not even considered firearms, unless you are registering something somewhere I am unaware of, once you ship it there is no record of a gun being shipped and because it is shipped straight to my door and I have never had to register any muzzleloader with any agency please explain how it can be put back on the shipper when there is no paperwork showing were it came from.
