I have a sneaking suspicion that any suspicious package- gun shaped- is being x rayed. I was told in certain areas, suspicious packages are set aside for further inspection.

My experience is with handguns only which are always shipped in boxes that unless marked you would not know what is inside. I do not know how rifles are shipped so cannot say about those. And to me anyone that would ship any gun, handgun or rifle that went out gun shaped I myself would be doing a major inspection on delivery because that tells me it was not properly packaged

Sorry, but this is mostly just silly nonsense. The only REAL issue shipping BP guns to California is the attitude of people who think because they don't like California's politics, shipping a BP gun there is going to bring the gub'mint down on their heads. Frankly, it's tiresome. Here's how you ship a BP gun to California: Put it in a box and drop it off at the Post Office, UPS or FedEx. I've been living here my whole life and buying/selling BP for most of that. Good grief....
I am a California resident and while I certainley donot agree with any restrictive govt, policies I have never had a problem . purchased Pedersoli from liscensed dealer, looked it over handed him money walked out of store, purchased Rem . new army from Craigslist add gave money got revolver. bought 1911 look alike from dealer , filled out simple form, answered simple fire arms saetey questions , waited a few days. No problem, while a small PIA I do agree with the safetey aspect.
The big problem with firearms is of course obvious. Criminals and people wanting to and doing harm.
Education is the key ,but now the politicians in Calif. have made it a crime to informe anyone onder 18 of even saftey practices . We of course can see where this will be beneficial .

At least we still have some rudimentary drivers traing and examination required.
I do not know for how long it has been discontinued but Cal. high schools used to offer drivers draining courses. If you have driven in this state in the last 40 years you can see what the effect has been.

Most suppliers wil not ship Caps nor Powder to NJ.....Why? Because the Democrats that run the show made a Law that prohibits the Citizen from ordering online for these sort of things. So much for free trade and freedom with the Dems. Wheres Pond at?
