I had a pleasant surprise at my doorstep when I got home from work today. It was my new Kibler SMR in .45 finished and sold to me by olskool here in the forum. Here is the classified that I bought this from (more details and pictures of the gun there).

Having never handled a muzzle loader like this in my life, I was very surprised by how thin, svelte, and light this gun is. It's truly a work of art. I especially love the toe plate olskool made from a band saw.
My plan is to try and take a deer with it in January. I will definitely let yall know when and if that happens.

Thanks again to olskool for selling me this beautiful gun. I couldn't have asked for a better flinter to start with.

Here are pictures from the classified thread I bought this from since I don't think I would be able to take better pictures than olskool until I have time to take it into the sun.

My goodness if I had a brick fireplace that could be a younger me right down to the dog. The gun fits you well take it easy and enjoy

Okay, listen up. Sooner or later, you are going to want to take that gun apart for cleaning, etc...

PLEASE WATCH THE KIBLER YOUTUBE VIDEOS ABOUT HOW TO TAKE THE BARREL OUT OF THE STOCK. You have seen how thin the stock is. It can easily break, and you don't want that.

Following watching the videos, check out BLACK POWDER TV and Bob McBrides' videos of how to shoot it. Did you know there is a way to hold the SMR? Different than other guns, believe it or not.

Finally, look for an article about how to shoot flintlocks by Paul Valandingham. It might even be pinned here somewhere. Believe me, you will have tons more fun if you do all that before you start shooting.

I wish I knew some of this stuff before I got mine.

The Doc is out now. Happy Shooting.
