    Armi Jager Zouave

Have no idea only know from the internet search I did for Armi Jager (had it spelled right the first time) that Navy Arms was their US importer. Somebody else could have also imported them. Neither is now in business so it's a mute point.

    Armi Jager Zouave

I miss-spelled the manufacturer, it's Armi Jaeger (not Jager).

    Armi Jager Zouave

Found this used so bought it. Has not been fired much, at least with a bullet because it still has bluing inside the barrel, no rust, no pits. Looks like it has been in storage since the 80's. I have some questions because the person I bought it from didn't know anything. I'm assuming this is a...

    New GM barrel

Got two of them for my Renegade. A 54 and a 58. Liked them so much that I found a used Renegade stock, took down the comb, re-finished it and put the 58 on it. Thinking about building a stock for the 54 so I can leave the original 54 26" barrel on the kit stock I did 30 years ago. Very accurate...

    .58 cal. Green Mountain barrel

The 58 Cal Green Mountain barrel on my Renegade loves .570 rb and .18 patch ticking.

    Deerstalker barrel

If you want a longer slow twist 1:70" round ball barrel I'd call Green Mountain or Track of the Wolf. I'm pretty sure the same 32" barrel I drop in my Renegade will fit the Deerstalker. I think I've even seen that referenced on Track of the Wolf under their Green Mountain barrels.

    Deerstalker barrel

I've had my T/C Renegade 54 Cal 26" barrel with 1:48" twist about 30 years. Never shot elk but have put a lot of deer down with it from 75 to 150 yards. For a long time I shot nothing but 430 grain TC Maxi-balls with 100 to 110 grains pyrodex in it because that's what Thompson Center said it was...

    Springfield or Enfield?

I don't own an Enfield or Springfield but would like to some day. Wouldn't it be historically correct to take down the comb on an Enfield if it was to high and or wide to sight comfortably? I can't believe a soldier in the field would have not done the same thing with whatever tools were...

    Renegade Stock

I'll leave it all together and start taking the comb down till it feels right. Then take it apart, strip, sand and put oil finish on. Much prefer the duller oil finish anyway. Was going to get a blank stock with T/C inletting for a 1" barrel and make another stock for yet another Green Mountain...

    Renegade Stock

Was afraid of that. What I get for having a big head, this stock would fit most people.

    Renegade Stock

I picked up a complete ready to use Renegade stock for one of my Green Mountain barrels but the high cheek on it is not comfortable for me. My old Renegade was a kit so I sanded it to fit years ago. I'm pretty sure this is American Walnut so thinking I can hand sand it down and rub in gun stock...

    After Cleaning Question...

I used to live in Victoria, that Gulf Coast Humidity can be brutal. Not as bad in North Texas. After soap and hot water I've been using Laurel Mountain Forge Bore Lube to swab my barrels. Seems to work.

Fav Loads for T/C 54 Renegade?

Yes I was referring to the Hornady Great Plains bullet and they come pre-lubed. This barrel and frame was designed with conicles in mind however paulvallandigham is right, it is pretty strong for deer. It will reach past 100 yards however. I do not use anything between the bullet and powder...

Fav Loads for T/C 54 Renegade?

My Renegade 26" 1-48 barrel shoots .530 RB with .18 ticking patch (also does ok with the .15 patch) and 80 grains ffg real well. For over 100 yards the 425 grain Great Plains bullet with 100 to 110 grains ffg is the most accurate load but it will put a bruise on your face if you shoot it to...

    .45 CAL

What is to much powder depends on the rifle. My 54 Cal Renegade with the 1-48 twist barrel will shoot holes that touch or come close at 100 yards if I hold the same sight picture each time with 110 grains powder and 425 grain Great Plains bullet. It's a jaw slapper but accurate.

Gotta Love TC's Customer Service Dept

That and because they are so reliable is why I have two Renegades ... and always on the lookout for another stock, lock etc. to drop in another barrel.

    TC rb barrel choice

Yes, it is so accurate that I usually don't tell people the 100 yard groups I get ... most wouldn't believe it. I've got scoped center fires that don't shoot this well. I was so impressed that I ordered the 50 Cal 1-70 twist to go with it, but it's on back order.

    TC rb barrel choice

The T/C Hawkin 54 Cal is a 1" across the flats barrel so you can put the 58 Cal Green Mountain barrel on it ... 32" long with 1-70 twist. Mine fit perfectly on the Renegade and it is a shooter. Hit the sweet spot with .570 round ball, .18 patch and 100 grains pyrodex rs.
