    Ram Rod Drill?

Last time I drilled out to a larger diameter hole I used a steel rod from the hardware store and filed a D shape on the end...It scrape along and got the job done for that one with a few sharpening along the way. But I have the need to do a couple more blanks which is not suited for that soft...

    New Chisels

Learning to sharpen on cheap chisels is better than learning to sharpen on expensive ones. Learn to sharpen first is key. There is a chec company that has good stuff at a modest price. Starts with N... want to say numric but can't remember. Found em....this is their low end set, but have higher...

    Intermediate kits?

Instead of a junk barrel go to the hardware store and get a steel square stock and practice there. as far as 2x4 I think you need to practice on hardwood. call dunlap and get a $20 half stock.

    Intermediate kits?

I think there is more to it than the kits themselves yes some are cut better but it's the Toolbench, Tools , lighting, vise, grinder and the ability to sharpen tools and make tools that really makes the difference in how hard a build is IMO.

    Traditions Kentucky rifle kit

We were doing the tourist thing on a weekend off and I was like "SEE Ya Guys" when I saw it. LOL. Got a couple Green river knife blanks, cap box, horn and could have spent a few more dollars but suit case only carries so much. Post the build along there seems to be several guys building them...

    Preserving fur/hide

    .36 kit rifles

Just one note on a flint, you have to have real Black powder. If it was available local my next build would be flint. BP can be ordered but then you more than likely have hasmat fees to add to the cost. You could get the Shenandoah and check L&R website for a replacement lock convert it to...

    Preserving fur/hide

I've used van dykes on about 4-5 deer hides they have the instructions for hair on or off. easy to follow instructions, best time to do it is when it's warm outside. You can roll and freeze the hide...It will kill the ticks, Just one thing a rolled up hide takes a very long time to freeze...
