Used and not used a drop tube in my rifle. Seemed to make no difference out to 100 yards. Dispensed with it now, my paper cartridges and thus patched bullets work best for me. Horses for courses, you’ll need to find your own horse! 😉🥳👍👍👍
Found out that one of my NMN’s doesn’t like the ‘new’ bullets with 15gn Swiss 2 behind them.
the 7 ring is 2 3/4” - three rounds went off target completely at 15 yards!
probably needs less powder, what do you guys think?
the barrel IS pitted, it was a cheap gun.
Actually made it into my shed to do some casting for the first time since I went crock in August. TOW sent me a Lee 375-130-6C mould a while back. Being a 6 cavity meant that I spent more time waiting for the lead to melt than I did casting 100 bullets. Test run tomorrow.
I cast .620 ball. Your marks indicate that the mold is too cold. Keep the mold on the furnace while heating up and between pours. I have also drilled out the pour hole by one drill size (I can't remember the size, it was years ago, sorry). HTH?
I have always used the term Patridge (name of the inventor) not Partridge.
A patride sight is undercutat an angle so that the edge facing you is in shadow. Clearer sight picture, no good in a holster as it snags too easily.
