    cleaning antlers

I was surprised to see a taxidermist use a buffer with the wire wheel attachment flesh a thick hide. I'm wondering if a dremil tool with a wire wheel attachment might work. Just thinking out loud. :hmm:

    .54 Great Plains Mold

Well I finally got to test out the bullets I made with the .54 Great Plains Mold from Lyman. Using 80 grns. 2F, Goex I have to say showed promise. Ill need to tinker a bit but I was getting 1.5"-2" groups at 50 yrds. I know it will do better but I was in a rush. I had an over sized (.62)...

    rusty bore

Are you sure your getting all the moisture out? I use soap and warm or hot water. Dry patching it WD40. Seems to work for me. After all WD is for Water Displacement.

throwing the first couple shots away

I hunt on a fouled barrel. I've fouled it either with just powder or with a ball. A ball when I'm at the range and going to hunt the next morning. Powder if I have to travel a couple of days to the hunt area. Then I'll foul with powder and do a wipe with a patch. In small bore competition, we...
