    Sharp Shooters

I am sure this has been posted before but was going through the channels and was watching Sharp Shooters on the history channel. Sad thing when the public is led to believe you can barely hit a sheet of plywood at 50 yards with a smoothbore.

    Novels

Has anyone read and have opinions about The Gauntlet or the Colonial Frontier Series novels? Wanting some good reading. I've read Ekkerts books, the Woodsman, the first few White Indian series books but they got kind of lame.

    Lid catch spring

I was worried about the wood splitting up. Thanks

    Lid catch spring

This is a lid spring from TOTW for a sliding wood lid. Here's the question, the tip is very thin and narrow so I don't think it was made to drill and mounted with a screw. Is it suppose to be recessed in the lid and then nailed into the square end of the slot? [/img]

    Antique double barrel flintlock pistol

Oh the stories that piece could tell. Looks like it layed barrels down for a while from the pitting.

Good work. What is the sheet under them, some type of old trading stamp?

    Sure is pretty.

A striking piece of curly maple...

Very nice. I have yet to figure out how figure grading is done. On my rifle I am building now from a TOTW kit I ordered the "extra fancy" grade thinking I would get something like that but it ended up being very little curl on one side down the forearm.

Looking for Carbon Steel Knife blanks

Never mind after rereading looks like you are looking for a blade. Russell knives sells carbon knives you can slap some handles on.

Looking for Carbon Steel Knife blanks

If you want a stock bar blank look at Admiral Steel. Not sure if you are asking about an already formed blade or stock to work with.

54 cal rifle, is this barrel safe

I've got a .50 colerain that has a dovetail underlug in the slimist part of the barrel. I though the same thing but have never had an issue with the wall cracking and blowing out. Most of your pressure is in the breech.

    Cabelas Kentucky Flintlock Rifle

My first flintlock was a Kentucky pedersoli. Shot really well and had one of the best looking walnut stocks I have ever seen if that is what it truely was. Really deep dark stock that was almost 3 domintional in a way. I chipped a piece off by accident once and it had a crystalized peck look.
