    EXPLODING BARRELS

You want me to fire a .32 caliber round ball at 500 yds? You have got to be kidding.

    EXPLODING BARRELS

I am a non-swabber, preferring to use a spit patch at the range. I have posted 1/2" 50 yd groups from my Mortimer flintlock. The current picture is 5 shots from my .32 squirrel rifle at 25 yds. 4 shots went into a 1/4" and another opened the group to just under a 1/2". I have my share of local...

Change to Oregon Muzzleloader Hunting Regs in 2019

Scopes are NOT allowed. I'm not an English major but the regs should be read as "It is unlawful to use scopes" followed by "It is unlawful to use sights that use batteries....." Yes, I am aware of the exception for visually impaired hunters with a permit.

How Often Do You Remove the Touch Hole Liner

Like Enfield said I rinse the lock and scrub with a toothbrush followed by oiling. I do not remove the breechplug nor do I ever expect to. I pull the TH liners on my Pedersoli guns because they are easily removable and the threads do get fouling on them making them difficult to remove if not...

How Often Do You Remove the Touch Hole Liner

I remove them every time I clean. All of mine have hooked breeches, so I just remove the barrel(s) and let the breech soak for a few minutes in hot water before pulling the liner(s). The soaking makes them easier to unscrew. Once out, I go ahead and clean the barrel(s).

    ML round ball bench postal?

You stated the proposed bench rest competition will “pop the notion” of 2” 50 yd groups and 4” 100 yd groups, based on your observations of International shooting. You’ve been asked twice now regarding the group sizes you have observed and in both cases you have responded with non-sequitors...

    ML round ball bench postal?

Genuine, frontier gibberish. So what group size do you see in International shooting at 50 and 100 yds from the bench?

    ball over shot?

That's not quite an ounce of shot with a 320 gr ball. You're looking a 700+ grains of lead. No idea if it would be safe in your gun, but its gonna hurt.

    Unknown flintlock muzzleloader

Hopkins and Allen from the 1970’s. Believe they were made in .36 and .45 caliber.

    Confused on ramrod....32

    5/16" will just fit in a .32 bore. http://www.thegunworks.com/custprodgun.cfm?ProductID=203&do=detail&Cat2Option=yes

Components for shooting trap and 5-stand

Given the NMLRA lists iron as an approved ramrod material for its more traditional matches, not to mention all the steel ramrods, ramrod tips and range rods being sold I think we’re dealing with a local club aberration. If there is a safety issue I’m not aware of it.

Components for shooting trap and 5-stand

Never heard of this. Care to elaborate?

Shot a few doves for the pup

He's the follow on to my Springer so it's going to be upland/doves/ducks. Given the jackrabbit situation we tend to discourage our dogs from rabbit hunting and dogs aren't legal for deer out here.

Components for shooting trap and 5-stand

Went thru the process this spring with my Pedersoli flint double 20ga. While I have shot registered skeet and sporting clays with a suppository shotgun, I'm not shooting "competitively" with a muzzleloader but trying to get in enough practice on skeet and 5 stand/sporting to learn to shoot...

Shot a few doves for the pup

Took a break from deer hunting earlier in the month and popped a few doves for the 5 month old Boykin. Pups first birds and the first blood on the Pedersoli flintlock.

    Won't cock

https://www.lr-rpl.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=89:parts-diagram&catid=41:information&Itemid=68 If it's not working out of the gun, then its something to do with the tumbler, sear or sear spring. Something is keeping the sear from engaging the notches in the tumbler.
  17. B

    Won't cock

Besides the lock binding, the bridle screws may be overtightened causing the tumbler to bind, or the sear spring could be broken/missing, sear could be broken. Does the gun have set triggers?

First shot always a flyer problem...

It appears this was all hashed out over a year ago. Long thread, good luck figuring it out. https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/50-cal-not-hitting-broadside-of-barn.108565/

    Charles Moore Flintlock Target Pistol

Figured since everybody was posting their artsy pistol pics, I'd throw out my artsy LePage pistols pic.

First shot always a flyer problem...

Are you saying your 50 yd groups are the size of a pie plate? At 50 yds you should be getting 2" or better groups, not 8". There's something wrong besides just an inconsistent first shot.
