    pedersoli flinter ???

Bought one, 50 cal from DGW about 2 years ago, had to work on the cock, Pedersoli sent me a new one with the correct geometry. They were good to work with. Love the rifle, acurate, I can see the front sight, the kids at 4-H have probably shot more than I.

i'm fit to be tied grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have a TC New Englander that likes to grab rods also, usually with a dry patch. I fished around with a long stiff wire and think that the vent opening is catching the patch and jag. I just don't know what to do about it. How do you remove the breech plug to get to that spot? It probably is not...

    Pedersoli Penn rifle

I actually measured the force it takes to open the frizzen, about 7 lbs. It takes about 13 lbs to cock the hammer. Neither apear to be extremely heavy, so I'll probably just leave well enough alone for the time being, at least until I get to shoot enough to change my mind.

    Pedersoli Penn rifle

I bought a Pedersoli Penn rifle from DGW right after Thanksgiving. Beautiful rifle, handles good, shoots good, but the hammer was so close to the frizzen a normal flint would not fit. Not serious, but agravating. After I visited this and other forums I saw Pedersoli might not have the best name...

    New rifle

OK, but where can you get a flint that is 1/2" long and 5/8" wide? The ones I ordered came 1/2" wide x 5/8" long.If I use a regular lenght flint, not only will the frizzen not close, but the flint will strike over the top of th frizzen.

    New rifle

Just got a chance to shoot my new .50 Pedersoli Penn long rifle. Put four shots touching at 50 ft off hand. Started with a cut flint that I had to grind off, then switched to a Tom Fuller flint, also shortened. The cock sems to be too close to the frizzen to let a regular length flint...

    Vent liners

Just bought a Pedersoli Penn rifle, the DGW catalog has a 5/16x20 for the vent. It is also listed on several other Pedersoli rifles. This is not a size normally found in the hardware store. Most 5/16 bolts are either 18 or 24 tread count. Don't know how metric converts, not sure it does on that...

    flint question

The ones I have are the smooth/cut type. I'll try to hit it harder tommorow, too cold/late to go back outside tonight. They are 5/8" wide and 3/4" long, double beveled in the 3'4" direction.

    flint question

Notching the leather did not give enough clearance, still need to get it about 1/4' shorter. It doesn't sem to knap like I imaged, as in I can't get any stone to leave, but maybe I just am not doing it right. Would be the first time.

    flint question

Newbie question. Just got a Pedersoli .50 flint Penn long rifle. says it takes a 5/8" flint but all I can find are 3/4" CVA or TC flints. How do I make them short enough to fit? I know I can order the real thing, but I want to shoot now
