    parts for T/C renegade.

Track of the Wolf also has stocks to fit the T/C Hawken and Renegade, half and full stock with T/C lock inletting in different wood choices. However, the wood on that factory stock is pretty nice once you get the factory finish off and that shotgun style butt comes in pretty handy for hunting loads.

    Best products and Methods

Agree with juice jaws. The way we clean these after firing and then most of us swab em out with something, I use alcohol, before firing again ... use what works for you and keeps the rust out.

    One Mississippi...

Yes you should be able to get a #11 nipple to fit from Track of the Wolf, at least that is where I got one for my Armi Jager Zouave. I was having trouble finding musket caps for a while there and used it as a back up. Worked real well with CCI #11 Magnum caps.

    Hello from Texas

Welcome Aboard. Pretty place ... Tyler. Our old dog run family farm is south of there between Grapeland and Elkart off an old dirt road you won't find on a map. Also have some relatives in Tyler.

    Got a .54 Renegade

Yep, and deep rifling groves. Assume you'll use .570 ball and .018 patches but you might try .020 patches too. Mine likes'em a lot.

Welcome aboard. There's a bunch of us in the area.

    Got a .54 Renegade

Nice find. Love those Renegades. Makes a real nice rifle with the 58 GM barrel, not that the original 54 Cal on it isn't good. Same setup I have one one of my Renegades.

    beeswax ?

Don't laugh but the toilet seal rings you get at Home Depot, Lowe's etc are beeswax. Are they 100%? Not sure but in a pinch for a little over a dollar they work. That's what my current 50/50 Crisco/Beeswax Minnie Ball lube is.

    Favorite Brand of Caps?

I've seen it posted and heard that Pyrodex does not age well however by my experience that is not the case. This year, digging through a box, I found a half used canister of Pyrodex RS with the Victoria All Sports (where I bought it) label still on it. I haven't lived in Victoria, TX for over 10...

    GPR dovetail and sight question

I was always taught that the 6 o'clock position was for target shooting and the bead on position for hunting. Since all of mine are intended for hunting I use the bead on or center of mass position. However, getting it there I started with the 6 o'clock position. The one exception to that is my...

i'm fit to be tied grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

When I get a patch wanting to get stuck, usually a dry patch, I pour a little alcohol down the barrel behind it. Give it a little while to soak in and it pulls right out. That's rubbing alcohol but the way your day went the drinking kind might be better ... and not down the barrel

    Favorite Brand of Caps?

I use Pyrodex RS with CCI #11 magnum caps and have no problems with miss fires. I even have a backup #11 nipple for my rifled musket because sometimes I can't find musket caps. Have not had a miss fire using #11 magnum caps in it either but I swab with alcohol a lot. The only problem I've had...

Hunting South Texas Pigs with a Muzzle Loader.

That is exactly what I do. If the smell from the skillet doesn't run you out of the house, finish cleaning it.

Hunting South Texas Pigs with a Muzzle Loader.

I'll stick with what I said, from my experience. Most big heavy wild boars getting up in the 300 lb and over range have stinky meat that processors don't want to mess with and neither do I.

Hunting South Texas Pigs with a Muzzle Loader.

Javalina's are not pigs. They are closest kin to ant eaters but they are not in the hog family. We have an over abundance of wild hogs in Texas and South Texas has more than their share. Sizes run from 40 to 500+ pounds. Anything over about 250 pounds will probably have such a strong meat flavor...

    Cant Remember....

All Renegade barrels and tangs are 1". If the T/C Hawken is a 54 cal it has a 1" barrel and tang so yes. If the Hawken is a 50 cal it is not 1" and really not interchangeable, but may fit with a little work. I'm pretty sure the lock and trigger is the same. All of mine are Renegades.

    Greetings from Texas

Welcome aboard. Arlington, TX here. Don't know about the other guys in the DFW area but I go out to Alpine range south of Fort Worth. Best time on weekends is sunup to about 11:00 am before the crowd and crazies show up. Range fee is $7.95, as many guns as you want as long as you want. They have...

    Zoli Zouave rifle

Now that you have me thinking a person could also go the other way with a long leaf Marble sight (reverse it) and gain about 3 inches in eye relief. Might look a little funny but if you can see :hmm:

    Zoli Zouave rifle

Understand, I have the same eyes. I filed the V deeper on the 100 yard leaf so could see the front sight better which helped a lot. Would have never thought of using a long leaf Marble sight to make a peep. That's pretty good
