    Instead of chopping up a shot gun barrel. Couldn't you build a barrel out of seamless tubing? What kinda material would work best?

    Well while we are talking about making barrels... What kinda material would work for making a barrel for a 12 ga bp smoothbore. Seamless tubing? 4140? I've noticed a lot of breech plugs are made out of 1018 mild steel. Making a smoothbore would be a lot less work than a rifled barrel.
