Looking for a good flintlock conical

I am looking for a good conical to use in both my 45 cal (1 in 60 twist) and 50 cal (1 in 48 twist) flintlocks. I will be hunting deer and I am mostly concerned about accuracy. I know I will need to do some shooting to test things out but I would like a good place to start. Any one have...

That is a great buy consider the current state of things.

    lead price

I agree with the earlier posts. If you need to buy much lead, wait it out. We sell shot and our cost has gone from about $15.00 per 25lb. bag to $36.00 currently. And even at $36.00 you are lucky if you can find any to buy. This has happened in just the last 12 to 18 months. Sooner or later...

Who is doing the moderating around here? I put up a post in the flint lock section on how to knap a flint and it gets moved to the craftsman section??? #1/ Who ever is doing the moderation is being very anal and #2/ I did not ask how to create (make a flint) but rather how to knap, sharpen or...

    Rightnour Accusporter Pro 50 ???

I hope you guys don't mean politically correct when you use the term PC. To refer to any gun as "politically correct" would be a terrible perversion of an oxymoron. I own and run a gun shop and I can clearly tell you that we shooters and our weapons are not politically correct in today's sad...

    Rightnour Accusporter Pro 50 ???

Hey guys don't worry about the ribbing I'm getting over the look of the stock. I have a couple of modern rifles with the black and gray laminate stocks and I think they look sharp. Besides, all the warping and stock rubbing is much less likely with a laminate stock. It may not be primitive...

    Accuracy on Production Flintlocks?

Sorry guys, I was sure I read that T/C owns Green Mountain Barrels but I can not find the artical in hard copy or on the web. I thought it was mentioned in one of the articals about Smith & Wesson buying T/C. If I find reference to it I will post it here. In the mean time I retract the...

    Accuracy on Production Flintlocks?

I don't mean to point out the flaws but T/C owns GM (Green Mountain Barrels) and both T/C and GM are now owned by Smith & Wesson. When you buy a T/C or GM barrel you are getting the same product.

    PA Pellet Flintlock

We sell all the different pellets at our shop and only the pyrodex pellets are coated with black powder currently. None of our customers have had any luck with them in flintlocks. Stick with the real thing (black powder) for the flinters.

    Rightnour Accusporter Pro 50 ???

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts about the RMC (Rightnour Muzzleloading Company) Accusporter LTD. PRO flintlocks? It looks like a good set-up for hunters and features a Green Mountain barrel and an L&R lock. I was thinking of picking one up in a 50 cal. The link is below and from...

New 44 cal flint, need help.

Thanks for the info. The barrel is indeed 35 inches and the rifling does appear to be shallow. By tweaking, Do you simply mean the usual things like flint angle and clearance, touch hole opening, hardening the frizzen, etc? Or are there other tips you can suggest?

New 44 cal flint, need help.

I have owned and shot several 50's & 54's over the years but this is my first 44 cal. I recently picked up a "KENTUCKIAN" Jaeger rifle in 44 cal. marked made in Italy. I have not slugged the bore yet but my question is simple. What do you recommend for a powder, patch and ball combo for both...
