    What happened to the dove???

Same problem here. For the two previous years we had no birds because of the draught. This year we finally got some rains and had lots of doves until two weeks ago when the temps dropped into the mid 30's two nights in a row and poof, they were gone.

    Eurasain collared doves

I have a friend who use to own a pet store that specialized in bird's. He told me they were imported to be sold as pets (low dollar one's). When they first started showing up here, I googled them and read on some websight that during one of the hurricanes a few years back, several survived...

    Eurasain collared doves

They started showing up here in Gallup, NM about 4 years ago and now they are thick in town, but I have yet to see one out in field when hunting.

Anyone apply for or get tag draws yet?

I put in for elk, deer, antelope and javelina here in NM. I put in all three choices on each form. I chose all muzzleloader hunts. I drew a three day antelop hunt in a great area but, when I checked the dates against my day planner I was heart broken. Several of my fellow veterans in my Elk's...

    Oryx Hunt

I havent drawn an oryx tag yet, but most of my freinds have hunted them on the range. From what they have all told me 200 yards is a close shot on that hunt.

Am I using the right ball size?

I would try switching to BP first. Both my Traditions .50 and my T/C .50 would not group at all with the substitutes at 50 yards. I switched to BP and both will shoot under 2" at 100 off a rest.

Thanks for the reply, and thank you also CoyoteJoe. I will try and fix it and report the results, unless, of course, I end up up wearing it! Thanks again.

    Cracked Stock Repair

Yes it is, but I built this rifle from a kit in 1983, browning the metal. In 1990 I refinished the stock with a different stain and added several inlays. I would prefer to repair the original stock if I can since I have so much time invested in it (not to mention sentimental value), I think a...

    Cracked Stock Repair

I have a hawken rifle that has a crack that starts in the lock area on both sides and extends all the way back through the wrist. Is there a way to repair this or do I need to replace the stock?

    Peashooter selection

The ramrod on a .32 is definately a liability, several years ago I bought a Cabelas Blue Ridge in .32 and went out to sight it in. I didnt think about swabbing the bore between shots and when I was loading for the 7th or 8th shot, trying to force the ball down the barrel the ramrod broke. I...

    New Mexico Newbie

Welcome Dave, I'm new here too. I shot archery for decades, both wheel bows and tradintional, but a back injury put an end to that. Now I'm going back to ML and starting the learning curve all over again. This sight is great, these guys are very helpful and know there stuff. Good to see...

    Hello All

I live in Western New Mexico, I used to hunt with a traditional muzzleloader back in my younger days. I became a die hard archery hunter and hunted bow only for over 25 years. I suffered a back injury last year and can longer shoot bows. I decided I would go back to ML because I love the...
