There's a flintlock guy genetically imbedded deep down in us - in our DNA. It got in there because it was the primary arm of our ancestors from the mid 14th century snaplocks up until the mid 1800's; 250+ years. It's now part of our instinct, sorta like the enjoyable feeling we get when we get a whiff of something cooking on a campfire - ancient man did that for a long time and we genetically remember it...

I hear ya, Ed, I'm a cap gun guy myself, but I woke up this morning with 3 flintlocks (how in the heck did I let that happen!?!?). See above; it's like Covid, we'll all get it eventually, it's unavoidable.
Genetically embedded.
I like that and believe that.
Good one Hammer.

Don’t fight it Ed. You know you want it!!

Ed's a shooter, he'd be good at it. I'd definitely like to be there when he had a pan flash🤣 probably rip my sides open laughing at all the cuss words he'd string together 🤣
You all must think you're dealing with some sort of amateur or something. I'll have you know that this old boy is well acclimated to pan flashes. Every one of those I kept my cool and handled the situation like a pro. Pan flashes can actually be to ones benefit, you know. After the last occasion, it put so much smoke in the kitchen that I could barely see the doorway, it set off every smoke alarm in the house and it took us two days to find the dog. After that, my wife promised to cook all of my squirrels from then on. She said she doesn't want to chance any more pan flashes. So see there, a win-win situation when handled properly. :)

You got it buddy. I'll even router and sand the edges.👍
Actually, Tom, I appreciate it but that won't be necessary. I have a temporary chair to use as a trial for this silly adventure. If I think...........cough, cough........that I might like that style of hunting, I have one picked out that will facilitate it very well. I'll most likely have to sell a kidney to pay for it, but we shall see.

So if I understand this correctly, YOU had a pan flash, and SHE was the one stringing the cuss words together............🤣

Yep, you got it. It was bad enough to make a sailor blush with shame.
Now that would have been worth the price of admission 🤣 but I do feel your pain. Over the years, we've developed his n hers kitchen stuff. A fella cooks a pork belly on one of her good cooling racks one time in the smoker, and he's an outlaw (keepin it G rated) for life.
