Its a 16 bore (.662 ball) circa 1800-1815 English sporting rifle in form. Has a copy of a Manton recessed breech lock with a saftey.

Barrel is 30" with the breech.
European Walnut.
Manton style hardware.
About 10 pounds.
Normal load is 140 gr of FF Swiss and an one ounce ball.

I've had whitetails run 50 yards after taking two rounds of OO buck in the chest and I've had them drop at the shot from a 44 magnum. I think that my .50 pedersoli will do just fine if I take it black bear hunting here in VA.

I chose to trade my .45 in for a .50 because I can grab components right off the shelf and the .50 has enough juice for anything in North America if I use conicals.
