I carry mine with my trigger finger in front of the trigger guard , my hand wrapped around the grip and my thumb , pretty naturally , in front of the hammer but behind the nipple . It feels pretty comfy and seems to be very safe as your thumb would stop the hammer in the event the hammer was inadvertantly dropped . When you shoulder the rifle the rotation puts your hand in a good shooting position , finger on the trigger and cocking with the web of your thumb on the way up . The 2 guys i shoot with most have adopted this style .
