Hey Rob if you want any small taps or small drill bits broke send them to me I’m an expert at braking them especially the small drill bits 🤪.

Mark out your length and boundaries of your lock and side plate mortices ... Measure your S.P. thickness and angle , looking down on edge , and slab off dead wood at S.P. and along barrel.length ....

Ok ...I made two ramrod pipes , only one goes on this gun though , and started in letting it in the R.R. channel ...mark its length , then line down the middle , drill holes , 1/16" , then connect them with saw blade .... Mark the length , then start inletting it down till not gap between it and channel ... Maybe get it down and pin drilled today , we'll see ...

Ok .... Mortices rear in the rough... Touch hole drilled ... gonna do a test fire soon ....then forward of mortices will be put in the rough .....
Nice work Rob, it most feel good to have those old friends to help you build a gun. Worn wooden handled, old carbon steel screw drivers, files chisels and such. It appears they have be in your hands many times. A builder’s bench tells a lot about the builder. All good stuff my friend. Thank you.

Thats cool you noticed. When I was searching for tools back in 91-92 I always looked for the old stuff at flea markets , yard sales .... couldnt always find em but always preferred the old tools.

Cut them flutes in the comb .... Little at a time ...
Rob the only difference between a blanket gun and trade gun is less chiseling less filing and less sanding 😀cool .I bet it shoots shot pretty good at 15’sor even a little more and a ball 30 + yards .
