Rob, fantastic job, I enjoyed your whole post.
Glad you enjoyed it bud . I'm no Hershel House , every one builds differently ...just hoping it may help someone sometime , diff. ideas or techniques .... These things are so stupid expensive ...I'd love it if folks tried to build their own ....and then they'd not only be able to save a ship load of money but have some good stories to tell about their build and a pride in their gun/ rifle . Welp ....night . Take care. :)

Next is the fun part, shooting it.you got any old pals or tin cans to shoot that would be fun to see.😉
Well ....got lots of ex " pals " , LOL ...but better stick to tin cans . Hopefully in a few days I'll be shooting it ....Lordy I hope so ....I all get ya a VDO or two for ya bud ....I'll shoot her upside down too for ya ...

Okay ... Got the ramrod to pass under the front lock bolt and past the main spring ...didn't think that would happen . Sheew !! Ok , finish up this R.R. and get on to the next thing ...perhaps start taking the front down ... We'll see .... Gotta get this thing done !! Should have been done two weeks ago !
Your a machine amazing what you can do! Hats off!

Another problem child so ...trying to get the ramrod to pass the mainspring and the front lock screw . Ramrod drill drifted so ... " ya get what we have here ...." . If I cant get it to pass I'll put a false front screw in . Glue in a nut under the side plate and just use the middle screw for lock ...we'll see ....It IS getting past the mainspring now . I took out wood on the S.P. side inside the R.R. hole .....
Did the same thing to.one of my guns, straight screw slot cut out was in the right place for the ramrod

No work on it today unfortunately ... Done some running around today . Sanding tomorrow on it . Sure hope I get all the sanding done and I'm brushing shellac on it in the evening ....would be SO great .....we'll see . Got a new lock today .... Left hand Carolina gun starting soon as this one is finished ...

And sand and sand and sand ...... I'm liking the shape of the buttstock now , looking rather correct and refined ...getting close . The d@&# wood at the BP is higher than the plate and ive been sanding for days on it.....ugh ...gotta get tools out ... I have my " sacrifice tools " for such work ...which is why they are dull and slow to work . Tools are for wood or steel , not both so in such instances I use a sacrifice tool so as not to ruin a good tool.

Wow. Can we sticky this thread? Gorgeous lines.

If you have to stop working on the gun or have to do some sanding on a different area because the ADHD is kicking in ... Mark areas to be hit and / or leave notes on the stock for later ....
