I've been working on an old CVA Pennsylvania rifle with a 40" barrel for resale. I took it to the range and every time I run a cleaning patch down, it sucks it back in as the jag is exiting the muzzle. The hammer is at half-cock and the nipple is brand new, so the breech is not blocked. I've seen this happen once in a while on other guns. It's almost 100% on this one. It's a pain because then I have to grab a patch puller and swap it with the jag. I don't want the next owner to have to deal with this problem.
Does anybody have an idea why this happens?
Thanks!
Walt
