Logcutter; your target arrived today, you are in for the Turkey target. Now get out there and shoot the other two :)

Russellshaffer and Sily921; I look forward to receiving your targets!

Opps, I figured that sense you did not post the Jan scores you were using them for the reboot.

Well after my foot surgery my feet are doing fine and I am back in street shoes. Unfortunately the weather has not cooperated so no targets from me. Winds were 60 miles an hour the last few days and today we are under a weather advisory and supposed to get 3 to 6 inches of snow. Hopefully March will get better but right now the prediction is not good for the next 7 days or so.

Dave

Our weather has been terrible. I may try to get to the range tomorrow if we have that warm spell with a high in the 31 degree range. The snow on the ground shouldn't be a problem.

I'll not have any targets this month. I'll be trying to start up again next month. The shoulder rehab has been pretty good. Gun bashes are helpful while laid up, I've spent $100 on 3 tickets, and another total of $85 on tables and other chances. What can I say, I like keeping my cash. The three events were very profitable. A semi auto 12 ga w/5 chokes; a 9mm Taurus Millenium G2; a Taurus Judge- Public Defender Poly (410/45lc); $250. cash; a fifth of Jack Daniels; 2 bags of 25 - 9mm bullets and two folding sportsman's chairs ($49.99 price tag each). So this years going off with a bang. The only bad thing about them is they have no Traditional ML's there. The resting has done the shoulder and elbow great results. I decided to not push it. I'll hold off until mid March before shooting anything. Might test it out Mar 10-12 if the weather's decent. I'm on med creams and light wieghts. I'm not wanting to look like a Shwartznegger of Stallone. I mean, I saw them on the TV movie last week and they really look saggy bad. As long as I can shoulder and squeeze, repeat, I'll be happy. Aging is for wine, for me it sucks. I'll keep fighting it. See my signature

Weather has been weird all over the country. We even got snow in the higher elevations of this here valley of the sun (Phoenix AZ got snowed on.. You heard it from me first; Hell hath frozen over!!)
You guys can get in next month!
58 Caliber, glad to hear your feet are on the mend! I cant imagine having to go through that!
Mad Irish, Take it easy on that shoulder sir! Light loads when you get started back to the shooting please. i dont want to lose you as a shooter permanently because of a re-injury.

God bless friends!

Okay, I braved the weather today. It was between 18-20 degrees while I was at the range, but not much wind. I ended up shooting the pyramid target, the turkey, and the 5 bull targets. I shot the turkey with a Traditions 50 cal. capper, but it got hard to load after the first few rounds. Don't ban me guys, but because of the weather I used some WonderLube I happened to have in my old shooting box.

I shot the other two targets with my 32 caliber Traditions Deerhunter. It loaded a lot easier than the 50. Again I used the wonderlube. I haven't used that stuff in years, but with the temperature I was looking for something that would load easy for a number of shots. It did load easy in the 32. On another thread some folks mentioned the difficulty of loading a 32 in cold weather and they are right, but I'll tell you what, when your fingers are freezing a 50 isn't much easier. Thanks Terry for doing this.

I'll drop my targets in the mail tomorrow.

I was going to start participating in these matches. But saw the rules specify open sights only. Oh, well. That rules out using my new Little Fella rifle Dave Persons just built for me. :(

Someone here suggested loading blocks for a .32. I made one and used it last week and it is wonderful. Those little balls are really hard to handle but the block solves that. Just set it on the muzzle and poke the ball with your short starter. You could even do it with gloves.

Yup, we try to keep the shooting contests as original as is practical without being PC/HC nazis.. If you have something that is open sight Im good for it going into the shoots.

Yep. My eyes ain't pc no more. Those gizzies that fit onto glasses don't work for me, have tried all kinds. In recent years I have been shooting a peeper rear, post front with a shader. That is sorta, a half-open sight. A couple of my rifles have open sights but I can't hold them up anymore. That is why I went to the Little Fella. Oh, well.

Hmmm.. Maybe I can run an alternate match next month with Peep sights being allowed. They did have em back then, it just wasn't on most rifles..

It might be a lot of trouble, but maybe you could have a peep sight division? There are probably some of us who have peeps on hunting rifles. Might get some more participation. Also, depending on just how good a guy shoots with a peep it might not make any difference. Not like there is any money or trophy involved anyhow. I don't think too many people will be very concerned. That didn't come out quite right- I'm not trying to insult Rifleman.

I got no problem shooting against a guy using a peep site. I'd just like to see more guys shoot and mail their target's in by the last day of the month.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm OK with whatever direction this issue goes. My club allowed peepers because the older members (all but one over 70) needed them. I use a post on the front. But, IMHO, using a true peeper front and rear is a very difficult thing to do for most people. Holding that front peep steady is something most shooters just cannot do.
