This is a Pennsylvania Mountain Rifle semi custom kit from Cabin Creek. (Cabincreek.net) it is a 50 caliber with a swamped 38" rifled barrel. I hope to have it at the range in two weeks because I cannot get the powder where I live in New York so I have to travel to PA to get it next week. Brad and Shane at Cabin Creek are great people to work with, their week long workshop in the spring was fabulous and calling to ask for help along the way was always friendly and helpful, I can't say enough about these guys. I hope I did them justice with my build.

Great job. Are you sure thats your first build  . Looks really good Jeb.

After sanding down to 400 grit and raising the grain 3 times I applied Aquis-Forte for 30 minutes the using a heat gun heated the wood until it turned brown. Using a 50/50 combination of boiled linseed oil and turpentine I applied a liberal coat. I let it dry for 4 days and then 0000steel wool and True Oil, let dry and repeat the steel wool and True Oil, for 6 total coats. Thanks you all, for the kind words very much appreciated.

That's a superb rifle. If it shoots as good as it looks, it'll be a tack driver! Congratulations!
