Goex is closing!!

Yeah, I know. I've read it so many damn times already, that I am over it.

Now prepare for instructing others on the different powder available and where to get it.

I've never seen so many posts, where folks run their supplies to nothing, and then complain about it not being available when they need it!

Folks, there's other powder available out there, including goex. If you don't buy when you had the chance, then oh well, that's your fault.

You don't wait till a gas shortage hits to fill your tank right?

But did you hear GOEX is closing.

I still am shocked and a little disturbed that GOEX shut down. I'm not surprised that there is a lot of chatter about it. I wish we could stop sniping each other long enough to produce an organization that could support a business that is such a fundamental part of our way of life.

I would also like to mention that we need to stop running down Pyrodex and the like. By doing this it hurts their sales and they to might quit producing their product and then we will have nothing to use? We are a small market we would be wise to not run them away.

Maybe they could make something closer to say, gunpowder now.

Yeah, but I can't have a 1000 gal. in-ground tank where I'm located! Many farmers do, though!

You're right, but the product is just not real good for traditional flint. It's not a knock on the actual product, it's just that it's specific for other types of guns. BTW, GOEX makes several other types of powders in addition to Black, so they'll be gone, too! What a mess!

How is Pyrodex/777, etc in a percussion Hawken? I've never tried it

I do have a nice modern rifle that I used to deer hunt with but has collected dust for several years. I use Pyrodex pellets with it, but it runs 209 primers. My Hawken uses the regular #11s.

Nope. Pyrodex is garbage .

There is this company...hmmm... I think they're called SCHUETZEN. Schuetzen supports our youth black powder instruction work with powder and caps. Goex wouldn't return a phone call or email. As far as I care, goex can pound sand.
