Given my financial status I am left with the choice between Hern and Greystar. As I am new to this, I would ask for any advice concerning the better choice. First, I am no new comer to black powder or to ordinance, being a Army Master Gunner for 12 out of 20 years. I also do own a mortar which has been all sorts of fun. I am wanting now a naval cannon with a bore of 1.5 to 1,75 caliber. I am looking at both the swivel gun and 1/2 scale 6 pounder. I am asking for advice concerning the better purchase, as both are in the same price range. Please also consider after purchase support. I am one of those people who do read the reviews on Amazon before purchasing, therefore would like to inquire of the knowledge and wisdom of those more experienced on this board. I would also like to ask for recommendations for acquiring patterns for a naval carriage. Thank you.

If i had a choice I would go with the 1/2 scale 6 pounder, 2oz of 2f powder will give you a good bang. I can run up to 4oz in my 1.25 bore, when blank firing and a max of 2oz when live firing. Been playing with cannons now for 6 years, and own 4 plus a mortar. Can never have to many?
