Hello Redstick. I also picked up one of these earlier this spring. I love the look of a Northwest trade gun. I was a little apprehensive about ordering one these from MH after reading the reviews about not being able to contact and talk to anyone there. I never had that problem at all. I had to call early in the morning before they went to the shipping Dept. I had ordered a fussil de chasse from veteran arms and I really was not impressed with the quality of this gun. The bore was rough. The gun was really heavy. The stock was ugly. The MH Northwest trade gun was everything the veteran arms gun was not. The weight of this trade gun is a little lighter than my pedersoli. Indian trade gun. I installed a flash hole liner in the correct location. I like the fact that it is not drilled for a flash hole. I was very impressed with MH and the gun. God bless you guys and keep your powder dry.
