snake-eyes :hmm: :m2c: :)

Just think where the sport'd be if it weren't for the NMLRA!

I don't agree with a lot of their BS, but at least they're out there trying to protect the sport, (even if they do support inlines). :m2c:

:bull: your two cents is worth about 1 cent. you don't think the sport would be the same without inlines. shame on you the nmlra has sold out to the inline mfg.

A nice range built for hoosiers heck ohio has more members than ind.

I'd support the NMLRA, if'n they'd "protect the sport" from modern inlines!! :imo: :m2c:

<---stir the pot a little

Man I hate that.... There is no reason for them to raise their dues. This is bad business.
When there was a local bill to do away with blackpowder here in Maryland, many in our group contacted them. They told us to contact the NRA, they were handling it. I shoot in the territorials and that is the only reason I stay current. They talk about their great range, trader's row, and etc up there in Friendship, Heck, I'm not driving 16 plus hours to go there... ok well maybe I'll do it once :)
That's a lot of money for a mediocre magizine. :imo:

I wonder if the reason the NMLRA's dues are go'n up,.... could possibly be "traditional" shooter's are drop'n ther memberships due to the NMLRA's acceptance of modern inlines???? (I did!)

Anybuddy know how the current NMLRA's "membership numbers" compare to those,.... of, say 5 years ago?????

It's like this... lets say they had 10 members and the dues were $10 per month. Then they do something and anger 3 of their members so much that they quit leaving 7. Those 7 members have to make up the revenue that 10 generated therfore their dues go up to $14 a year. Which angers more member, etc.

What I don't like is that spend most of their budget on things that 5-10% of their member will use. Things like their range, building a new building, and national shoots. Whens the last time you saw any advertising in a major publication?

I agree but here is the kicker
In say 5 years or maybe 10 where will the NMLRA have us by letting in inlines?
*Having BP weapons included in the firearms act
* Having all BP weapons dropped from short-range weapons hunts.
* Loss of public support for BP hunts by including all of us into what may be seen as UN ethical hunting as a whole.
* Loss of black powder hunts all together after all we are no longer hampered by short ranges or 200 year old ballistics

Captchee,.... Reckon you'n I see the same problems brought on by modern technology, and greed.

By endorse'n inlines, the NMLRA is cut'n "our" throats!!

leastwise,.... as an ex-NMLRA member, I'm no longer pay'n'em to do it!! :m2c:

I haven't renewed my membership in 4 years. It only saved me $10 at thEPR and the magazine is nothing more than a brochure for Indiana and inline guns anymore. I was also screwed out of my range officer certifacation, because of a mistake on thier end. Don't need em. :m2c:

I agree! I'll never renew with them, (NMLRA)... Muzzleloader, and Buckskinner magazine's get all my support from now on, along with the Rendezvous Club I belong to, and the traditional muzzleloading chapter of my local gun club.

No More NMLRA!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I am a NMLRA recruiter... yep I am I got a certificate to prove it. I get my subscription for free but to be honest I wouldn't pay this price for the membership. The reason I'm a recruiter is our club is a "Charter Member" and I'm the secretary, etc. One thing I don't like is the constriction of the their members into small elite groups of people. You have the slug gun crowd, the bench rest crowd, the primitive people, inlines people, and those that manufactures parts and build the highly prized rifles. These groups form very tight fraternity and do not socialize with the others. It will slowly degenerate until they form other groups like NSSA, Cowboy Action, and BP Cartridge. Just like modern shooters with their Highpower and Small bore.

Just think, when Claude gets his/our association up and running we'll all be founding members.

I'm going to return the renewal paperwork to them with a copy of their form letter they sent me which extolled the virtues of inlines as being no different from traditional, and tell them "see attached for the reason I'm not renewing".

It's fairly well established that magazines are set up to be totally funded by the advertisers within, so the "membership fee" that results in a magazine is really just profit that goes into the NMLRA operation.

I get far more benefit from the wise members of this forum than I'll ever got out of the magazine, and no longer want to subsidize the range operation in Indiana.

I just got my renewal today also, and didn't notice the increase because the $48.00 is for a family membership, and I have the single membership which is still $40.00.Was the family membership $48.00 last year or is that an increase over last year?I didn't remember hearing about any increase.
I will still support them, letting them know of any disagrement I have,as there is still strength in numbers, and we have to stay as strong as possible as Pres.Bush will not be around forever.
