This one is brand new actually, the sun made it look pretty scratched up for some reasonWhen I look at a Spiller and Burr replica, it is important to take the cylinder out and see if there is the imprint of the back of the cylinder in the brass at the rear of the cylinder opening. I really like the Spiller and Burr. Always wanted one to tinker with. Seems like most shooters like this revolver.

I was definitely a little surprised by the size as well. I like it a lot though.I was surprised when I got mine at how small it was in comparison with, say, the 1851 Navy. I had never seen one before getting one shipped to me.
I did put a taller front sight on mine, and keep the charges to 15 grains to baby the frame.
The Doc is out now.
They are still tight behind the triggerguard for sure, not much room there. My spiller & Burrs, 1973 production from MORFA. Serial numbers 65 & 66. I know where serial #1 (unfired) is but the owner isn't ready to part with it yet. I shot one unaltered in N-SSA revolver matches when I first started but didn't do well as it shot so high, it was fun though. You can see how close my finger is to the guard and even with 15 grains it thumped my knuckle so hard it was quite uncomfortable after just a few shots. I have no idea how close these are to the current Piettas as I've never handled one but I would be curious.
