Very sorry and ditto all above. Dont forget NRA Insurance (will make up for H/O deductible. I'd dig a pit and stake it like in nam. Make a show of bringing in some new guns so he will see you. Video and post!

Yeah...been there, done that! It's always a serious "violated" feeling and doesn't go away quickly. Be thankful he/she/it just grabbed the guns and left. I'm so happy nothing more was done, and don't believe that kind of low life can't and won't try something worse. God bless you both, trust some day this "person" gets what they deserve. In the mean time, like me, you'll haunt the gun shows and flea markets just looking for a trace! You may also be able to get some compensation from your homeowner's policy...be sure to check!

kept waitin' all day for the big 'APRIL FOOL'S". very sorry for yer loss & hope it turns out well(as in the perps bein' hung up by the 'nads & left to rot). and as has been said, glad the missus is okay.

Zonie, I know it doesn't help, but I really feel for you, brother. :( That really sucks. :cursing: I too live in the Phoenix area, so this is pretty scary. Part of me hopes the weasel will try again and you can catch him and turn him over to Sheriff Joe. The other part realizes how dangerous this could be and hopes you'll never see the sleazebag again. I know the chances of the guns being recovered are probably fairly slim, but I wish you luck anyway.

I just noticed the AH also took my Sheridan air rifle along with a beat up spring cock air rifle. :cursing:

No serial numbers on either of them. :(

Oddly, within arms reach of the air rifles stood a Pedersoli Tryon .45 with aftermarket target sights on it and he didn't take it.
The Tryon is easily a $450 rifle.

REMEMBER YOU MUST ASK to get this insurance Trust me it is in NO way automatic! If you are a member call and sign up!!!

You had them hanging on the wall? Really? You shouldn't be surprised someone broke in and stole them.

Zonie, I, like the others, have been waiting for the "April Fools" announcement. I'm sorry for what happened, but glad, at least, that your wife was not harmed. Life goes on, my friend.

Ah man....

Here's hoping you get them back. Father-in-law lost some museum-grade collector pieces and watched for them on the market for 20 years after. Near as he can figure, the thieves figured out they were too hot to handle and dumped them in a well or something. That thought was almost worse than the theft.

My daughter had her house broken into several months ago. She was at work, which seems to be the norm in her city. The bad guys scout and plan for when no one is at home. They bashed in the back door, set off the security system. Went through the house, took her new flat screen TV and a couple other electronics and were out the front door. Police estimate they were in the house less than two minutes. They didn't even look in bedrooms or closets. One had a collection of rifles I had given her and her jewelry was in another bedroom. I think I had a sense of violation to her personally than she did. Your post reminds me of that and rekindled the fear and anger in me. Hope your get your guns back, but more than that I am glad your wife was not injured. If your are of a mind to, send a thanks skyward.

This is one of the main reasons we now have a couple of dogs in the house, with my tinitus there is alot I can no longer hear, the dogs add a measurable amount of security.

Trail cameras are not that expensive. And they take great pictures. I have one at my cabin. It is isolated so I never know who has been there or not. Dead end. Anyone going there has to be going to the cabin. I have pictures of all the trucks on the road. Like one a month. Trail cameras. Go for it.

The one time you could hope that the perps try to fire one with smokeless powder. :shocked2:

Well don't give up hope my Tn Mt Rifle was stolen from the hunting cabin while on a food run into town one day. 17 years later my dad spots a guy shooting it at a rondy about an hours drive away. The guy bought it outright in what he thought was a legal purchase. The guy was an older gentleman and willingly gave the gun back when he learned it was stolen, and I compensated him back some funds as well. It just goes to prove that if ya make enough mistakes and come up with clever ways to hide them it makes the guns unique and stand out.

I hear people talk all the time about facing down an intruder with a gun. Unless you're active, trained military I wouldn't recommend it. If you've never actually shot another person before face to face you will hesitate they will not.

I've been thru this with expensive fishing equipment and even my truck. Be grateful you're wife was not harmed. List each gun separately on your home owners insurance. If they're stolen, get the check from State Farm and enjoy buying new ones. If they're irreplaceable, keep them in a bank lock box.
When my truck was stolen I got an insurance check for $30,000. I had only paid $24,000 for it. Went out and bought a much nicer truck.

I can't stand a thief. They are the lowest.

I had a hired hand who served 20 years for murder. Except for a problem with the 'hooch', he was a trustworthy fellow who wouldn't steal a thing.
However, I would never hire a thief or a druggie (same thing). They are incorrigible. :td:

Sorry to hear this bad news. Glad you and your wife were not hurt. Keep us posted.

Will keep an eye out for them Zonie while doing searches on the internet for guns to buy. Made a watch list to keep near the screen.

You have every right and expectation to display your guns in your home without worry from thieves.

I don't like electronic alarms but we do have dogs and they always alert when someone gets too close to the home. They provide enough time to grab a sixgun and investigate.

Most thieves will look for easier targets when alarms or dogs are found to be present, unless they're specifically targeting your stuff and are willing at great risk to go for it.
