I picked up a .50 cal. TC Renegade in a thrift shop for a super bargain price a few days ago. It is missing, sights, nipple and ramrod. I can make a ramrod and have a nipple. I even have a set of TC NOS sights in my stash of stuff. It has a bit of rust but should clean up nicely. The kicker is it is one of 1982 made for the Knoxville, Tenn. Worlds Fair.

Started getting my stuff together for the Red River Renegades Memorial Weekend shoot May 27/28/29

Shot my Frontier flintlock at 50 yds off hand. Verdict on the brass ramrod? Too heavy. The 2 fliers were me try to manage the weight.
Went back to a new TOW hickory rod and much better. The 6 other shots were on the money mostly.

So, like Clint Eastwood said in Pale Rider “there’s nothing like a fine piece of hickory.”

Shot my .52 cal. flintlock rifle this morning. The **** didn't want to ****. Took the lock out and it needed some cleaning. Hadn't shot it regularly . My off hand sucked but it shot ok at 50 yards. Anybody know where I can send this lock and have it gone over. My hands don't do well with small stuff any longer. Gots the arthritis and the fingers don't work like they should. Yuma doesn't have a gunsmith I'd trust with a BB gun.

That's why I made rods of brass tubing for carrying in the pipes.

I got to talk about Muzzle Loading Hunting opportunities at a Hunter Ed Class. In addition to sharing from my state regs, I gave a brief introduction to ML firearms.

I got a lot of giggles when I used the word nipple, so I called the "****" on a flintlock the "hammer" just to keep things quiet. 😁

I stripped the hardware off the barrel of a recently acquired .50 caliber T/C Renegade. It's going to Bobby Hoyt to be bored to .58 smoothbore. While it's gone I'm going to re-work the stock, slim the wrist and butt and refinish it. After I brown the steel parts I'm going to mount one of those folding brass peep sights I saw for sale in the For Sale section. It should make for a nice smooth rifle when I'm finished!

Don't forget to post photos when it's done!

I didn’t do any muzzleloading stuff today except checking in here a couple of times. I did earn big points though doing landscaping stuff for my wife. That will pay off doing muzzleloading stuff in the future.
