Went to my annual eye surgeon visit ,new eye glasses needed , then to optometrist to order new specs. Here's hoping I will be able to see to continue my m/l hobby.

Those fabric cutters are good for starting straight lines on the forearm of a new build. First , put the decorative line on the wood , go over the pencil line w/ a lining file or , my favorite , checkering tool. Quick , almost fool proof way to decoratively line a gunstock...............olswood

shot my TC Hawken 45 that usually wears a GM .50 cal barrel. it shot so nice that now i am in a conundrum. find another stock and flint lock or just leave it and switch back and forth. maybe i will just build another Hawken style stock.
made a ram rod. browned the furniture from the Tennessee classic.
made the cut for the butt plate. now the work begins.
made a coupler for my field rod. female/female to use some jags i have.
cleaned the TC and resoldered the rod thimbles on my CVA. one was slightly cockeyed and the new rod didn't like it.
made a bunch of patches for the .45 and lubed them.
started to inlet the entry pipe on the Classic but ran out of steam. (wife got home from town with a honey do list that had nothing to do with muzzleloaders!)
thus ended my muzzleloader day!

Decided that the Hawken pineapple patch box from Track was just too flimsy for my taste (16 gage sheet), so I pulled a thicker piece of 11 gage out and made a copy that has some heft to it. Pretty good job too. (pictures and mini-tutorial to follow)

Finally got some trigger time with a new to me 54 Renegade. Shot some round balls and some old CVA DEERSLAYER 375 grain bullets that I picked up about 10 years ago because they were cheap and just in case I ever got a 54 cal … also tried out some Lyman 460 grain Plains bullets.. put some balls through a factory TC 1:66 twist round ball barrel on a Hawken kit I put together. Shot the 32 Crockett and put a few cylinders through a Pietta Remington New Army 44… then spent a couple hours giving them all a good cleaning. Like Roger Raglin says ,,” I had a pretty good day”

It was 55F here yesterday. I just had to go burn some powder.
I left the cameras at home so my pet beaver and I could go on a date.
The Pedersoli KY, beaver and I had good time... ....

Finished preparing the ammunition for the reenactors' shoot that I sponsor annually. i have everything ready to load out Saturday morning.

I know it’s six mo old , but do you think it’s a good idea to be shooting reenactors so few of them left as it is.

Just got back from shooting my first flintlock. Had a blast. Some issues to work on and some getting used to the delay. Overall I think the gun shot pretty accurately at 25 and then 50yds. Point of aim was the center where the pencil tip is

Worked up a new load with my TC New Englander. It was switching from a. 495 round bald to a. 490 round ball. I was shooting the Green target. Then shot the Match postal match target with my Traditions 50 cal Kentucky!

Nice job on the March match target. I was hoping to shoot it today, but snow flurries and gusty winds. Maybe tomorow.

I did finish a trapper kit the other day. Maybe get to shoot it tomorow. Still a few things to put a little more love to, but it's ready to get dirty.

Thanks!! I was pleased with the results!! I was in the circle or right next to it!! Except my second shot witch was the top circle on the right leaf.

Looks like there's some gas cutting on your patches and the crown could use some smoothing. As your flint lock parts smooth out from shooting, the delay will get shorter.
