Purchased a 36 Bobcat from a fellow member here. Coned it last week, got out to shoot it today! Very pleased with the gun. I was shooting either 25 Gr Scheutzen 3F or 2F. Both performed well, but I think next outing I will try 30 Gr as I was a tad low.

Got the wood and butt plate blended evenly on the SMR and started on adding a toe plate. Just a little bit at a time.

Ha ha yeah, after doing a lil scrim on my cow horn, I figured, yeah not again lol. Too much for me. Too much finger cramping… @Idahomie ‘s horn looks unbelievably awesome

i put away the bag of 16 ga. wads and cards that i got ahead of my kibler 16 gauge cherry stocked fowler kit . track is already out of them must be a lot of 16's ordered..

Yup the griz we’ll come out in the middle of winter at times when there’s a chinook for a few days and it really warms up .man they are coming further down all the time by the sounds of it .

Why thank you! Yeah… scrimshaw’s not for the faint of heart. Between the neck cramping and constant numbness/tingling in my right hand, I’m beginning to wonder if it’s something I’ll be able to continue long term. I’ve tried using a Dremel in the past on one of my horns in order to give me some relief, but I wasn’t particularly happy with the results. You simply can’t achieve the same delicate lines as you can with a scribe or sewing needle.

I love your horn. Maybe we could trade a powder horn for some custom scrimshaw work? Not to hijack the thread, but here’s a couple others I’ve done.

Went to our clubs monthly shoot, burnt some powder, visited with friends and had a great potluck lunch as usual, came home and cleaned the rifle then took a nap.

Final sanded and applied two coats of finish to a CVA Frontier I'm putting together for a granddaughter. One more coat.

Said some bad words while working on a form for a leather project. Second time glue repair curing now.

Did something stupid, tried my 50cal St Louis Hawken at 640 yards. Thought what the heck the opportunity presented itself so I gave it a try. Target was in a green grass area so could not see the misses, but it is only powder and ball.

Nothing that exciting, shot another 24 rounds off the back deck at my clangers with my 1858 Uberti. I am really looking forward to getting all healed up so I can shoot my rifles and smoothies.

Went to a black powder shoot put on by the Native Sons of the Golden West. I was asked to help at the gunsmith bench and was glad to do so since I can’t shoot yet. There were at least 60 shooters on the line making smoke. I was able to help lots of folks with their guns, it was great. It was great to see like minded folks having fun. Plenty of nice hardware to look at. I left my phone in the truck, so I’m sorry no pictures. But trust me, these California people can shoot!
