    GM replacement barrel for T/C

I got a new Green Mtn drop in replacement barrel for my T/C. I had them cut a dovetail for a new primitive rear sight (moved it ahead a few inches). It has two screw holes for the factory sight that I plan to fill with two screws from the old T/C barrel then file flush. I suppose I should put...

    cleaning jag fit

Just got a new .54 cal cleaning jag from TOTW for my GPR. I also got some (washed) white cotton flannel from JoAnn Fabric for cleaning patches. With one patch on the jag it is a real tight fit in the clean barrel. Is there a rule of thumb for how tight the jag should fit? I thought about...

    Whats with the prices

I went for a drive last saturday around lower Michigan and visited some small country gun shops. The economy there is very bad. Shop owner said many guys are selling their guns (to him)to pay for rent & food. They had numerous used sidelocks for sale priced from $65 to $150. CVAs on the lower...

    TC Trigger guard

My T/C Hawken was a kit I put together in the late 1970's. While assembling it, I decided that I didn't like the curly part of the trigger guard that flips forward and I sawed it off and filed it smooth. I haven't missed it.

New to ML, have a question (1st post)

The more I think about it....I remember that 70 grains of 2f black powder was also a very accurate load with these two bullets. I also remember that 100 grains was the absolute maximum. This was a cheap rifle and NOT made for over 100 grains. I'd probably try these bullets at 70 grains of...

New to ML, have a question (1st post)

I owned one for a while (sold it 2 mo ago) Handy and light rifle. I had by far the best success with ffg Goex black. Poor ignition with Pyrodex or 777. I think my best loads were 80-90 gr ffg Goex with a 275 gr T/C Maxi Hunter or a 295 gr powerbelt. May print off a manual here...
