    Wierd Fouling in New Englander

I think it is from plastic wads also. Previous owner most likely never got the barrel properly cleaned after several shoots. I have had this happen in a Pedersoli double looking at different loading media. I also used JB paste.

    Turkey Loads in 10 ga.

I have a Pedersoli 12 ga dbl with interchangeable chokes. After applying all the good information about OP wads to get a good seal, Ive also applied the information found here on paper shot cups to tighten patterns. You may need to remove the full choke to get a paper cup down the bore. I...

I'm back after 20 years & need advice

I started out with TC 54 renegade and it harvested some nice bucks and does out to 80 yds on 90 grains of BP under TC maxiballs and most of the deer I got tipped over where they were shot and I never tracked the others over about 30 yds with plenty of blood trail. Good luck!

    Pedersoli side by side

I have had one since the 1980s and it has served me well. I think Cabelas sells them in the $800 range too.

    Range Report: EcoTungsten/Nice-Shot

Looks like a good load even though a little pricey. I see Ballistic Products has a new tungsten-iron shot available that is comparable to Bismuth. I havent decided if I should try it for this fall??

    Range report using Ballistol

I have used Ballistol for about 3 years full strength or cut with 2 - 4 parts water. It is great stuff. I also recommend it to wipe down your guns for storage or after a damp day afield.

Nickel plated shot for a turkey load...

I have used nickel plated #6 to kill one turkey in a 12 ga. pedersoli dbl. also got very good patterns with it in a 62 smoothie using your 20 ga. load. I like the performance.

    Pedersoli 12ga. Double

I have had a Pedersoli dbl 12 for a long time. It has the changeable chokes. I LIKE this percussion gun. It has harvested teal to turkey and patterns pretty well at 30 yds out of the full and modified chokes.

    TURKEY!

I have the week after Mothers Day here in WI. Hunting near the Miss River. Will take a GM 62 flint smoothie jug choked full and a Jackie Brown 11 ga. which I tried to jug choke myself to modified. Lots of patterning to do. Never had a bad turkey! Mostly cook them in a nesco for 6 to 7 hrs...

    Jackie Brown smoothrifles?

I have two Jackie Brown built flinters. Both in left hand. One is an 11 gauge fowler with a heavy tubing barrel the other is a 58 with a colerain barrel.both guns have harvested animals. Both are good quality and I am very happy with them for the money I had to spend. And I cant beat the...

    What Happen?

I agree with gas blow by as the problem. My 58 flinter did some weird things this season. Turned out the vent was burnt open and I was having gases blow out the vent. Replaced the vent with a Jim Chambers stainless and the problem went entirely away. Also had this happen on a 54 percussion...

    Custom rifles vs. factory stuff?

I still shoot factory and I have two customs, a 58 and an 11 ga smoothie. Built by Jackie Brown so they didnt cost what other custom guns do. I am happy with them but they are not top of the line that the guys are talking about here. I agree that you should determine what you want by trial...
