    This may be a long way to go for it, but you can use button head machine bolts. Turn the head down on a lathe and mill the slots in.

    Bob, If I may ask, what are you using for thread. I use waxed linen from the tack store, but they no longer carry it. :cursing: I guess I should have bought it all! :haha: That looks like it may make a good replacement.

    I have made a few knives from industrial hacksaw blades but not from circular saw blades. I use a dremel tool or a die grinder with a cutting disc. I just score the shape that I want and snap it off. Be careful that you don't get the grinder blade caught in the groove you are making because the...

    1840-50's shooting bag

    That is some great work, Chuck! :hatsoff: I really like the natually aged look to the package as a whole! Even the beads on the rosette look to have a natural patina. The photography is excellent as well! I can never get photos like that, the lighting is always wrong. :cursing:
