Pietta 1851 Navy cylinder does not rotate when cocking?

That is why I have never used them. Blessed to have good medical, but I do pay for it. Dad used the VA late in life. I got in the system, but don’t trust or use them. POTUS kicked a lot of deep state bad apples to the curb, about 500 total. Still need for improvement from what I read and...

Pietta 1851 Navy cylinder does not rotate when cocking?

Have you tried capping your nipples on the 1858 RNA's yet? Most cappers won't work on them. I have a Ted Cash snail capper that may work, but I've never tried it. A Thomson Center in line capper will fit. See pictures below.

FOR SALE 50 Cap & Ball Pistol Loading Tubes and Case

BTW, I was amazed to see the test sparking didn’t ignite the powder in your linked article! Makes me feel a lot better about it. Lots of fear mongering info out there when it comes to black powder. LEE’s legal team may have dictated that warning about static sparks, I guess the dryer softener...

FOR SALE 50 Cap & Ball Pistol Loading Tubes and Case

Thank you, just what I was looking for. The warning on the LEE powder measure dippers got my attention! Crazy Bill makes a great point. All my black powder comes in plastic bottles as well. Also, we use a humidifier in the winter, keep humidity at 45% good for us, and good for Martin D28...

FOR SALE 50 Cap & Ball Pistol Loading Tubes and Case

Any advantage for polypropylene over glass vials? I have read that plastic can cause static electric spark. LEE makes some plastic powder dip spoons in a set. I have one, the directions say to wash the spoons/dippers in soapy dish water and let dry without rinsing, to prevent the chance of...

    I use a Dremel Tool.......

It is not a heavy duty tool, but I have used it to drill small holes in round objects, and get a good center drill on the ball that way. Also, my newer cordless Dremel fits in it, as well as my old heavily used corded one. The other thing I have used it for is on my bench mounted drill press...

    I use a Dremel Tool.......

I’ve used one for years, couldn’t get by without one. My hands are just getting too arthritic for doing everything by hand. You must be careful though, as others have said. I used mine just last night, as a cut off tool, and to polish. I too have the router attachment, and the small flex...

Pietta 1851 Navy cylinder does not rotate when cocking?

Hum, you may be right. I read this article about them I found after reading your post. Mine was on sale at Taylor's about 11 years ago. It came with a spare cylinder as well. Advertised as REB 1851 Navy. The spare cylinder is the same as the one on the revolver...

Very nice! I'm rather fond of Uberti's INOX RNA's. I just happen to have a pair myself.

    Charles Moore Flintlock Target Pistol

Wow, those original dueling pistols are absolutely beautiful! Made for someone with coin to spare for sure! I guess that's why they always bought a pair of them, that way if you were challenged you couldn't beg off by saying you didn't have a gun. You might guess if you didn't the guy that...

    WANTED Jacobite coat and weskit

Very interesting. Kind of enlightens me on the whole Brave Heart thing! Pretty bad when the government tells you how you may dress or not, especially when it isn't even your government! And, although I don't care for young people who like to walk around with their ass hanging out of their...
